the memories christina once held had been flushed away the day her own mother decided to send her into the maze , but bits and pieces come back ever so often , usually in a form of a dream . the girl grew up under wckd's care dating back to infancy when her mother , dr crawford started working for the department . although she was a bright and very educated girl , christina never truly lived up to her mother's expectations . in fact , the older she grew the more rebellious she became , and while she had the knowledge to become a medical professional one day , she let her opinion get in the way of things quite often . she would hear stories about children , some who were even her friends , stolen from their families and experimented on solely to save the older generation ( at least that's how she seen it ) which she voiced an opinion on quite often . due to christina's disobedient behavior , she was never given the chance to become apart of finding a cure as others her age were growing to do , not like she actually wanted to . at a lost of what to do with her once she reached her teenage years , dr crawford made the final decision to send her daughter into a maze , which was originally supposed to be an action of punishment , but ended up becoming a permanent measure when found that christina was an immune.

when sent to the maze full of a variety of male gladers , christina spent her first few days watching her back and catching little to no sleep , in fear of what they might try . she could recall their faces when the box was first opened , everyone so supposedly shocked at a girl . confusion and fear rattled her mind , before someone who'd she soon be able to call her friend stayed up one night with her , explaining any and everything to her , which eased the girl's mind . christina and newt grew relatively closer afterwards , and the girl began to open up to the rest of the gladers , slowly . christina was in the maze for a year before thomas showed up . her one year anniversary was actually the exact same day he'd shown . 

personality: a few of christina's key traits stuck with her , even after she was sent into the maze . apart from her defiance behavior , she's often strategic and resourceful . for the most part , she always has a plan when things don't go well , after growing quite an attachment for the gladers and genuinely becoming concerned with their wellbeings . she's usually sarcastic , but she's not necessarily mean . her sarcasm usually reflects onto childish behavior than rude , still , she's serious when needed .

history with LI: the two started out as friends , sharing a passion for running before realizing they had much more in common than thought . christina admired the boy and his courage , and minho admired every single thing about the girl . once christina was selected to be a runner , however , minho began to act more as a mentor . christina enjoyed spending time with him , feeling as though she could be herself around him , like he seen her as more than a misfit . minho often found himself smiling more often when around her , he noticed his entire energy changing just by a glance towards her direction . christina earned her title as a runner and spent majority of her time with minho . everything appeared to be okay .. until the boy started to realize his feelings for her . he started to become worried , scared that one day she might not run fast enough , and he might not be able to save her . he started looking for reasons to get her to quit , begging newt for help until she was reassigned to become a healer . angry at first , christina was talked down by her friend , newt making up some excuse about taking advantage of her medical knowledge . she still ran from time to time , but she agreed to lay off on it .

slowly , their friendship became flirtatious , and everyone noticed it besides the two of them . as months went on , the two denied feelings for each other , both blinded by fear of rejection to say anything . this ordeal continued on , up until alby was bit in the maze . going a few days angry with the boy , minho finally a bit of alone time with christina in the med hut as she tended to alby , to which minho confessed his feelings .. right before the grievers attacked .

the two didn't speak much of the confession , though the tension between them was as heavy as ever , and began to practically act as though they were in a relationship . they finally did talk about it at the right arm's outpost camp , away from everyone else on top of the hill . christina admitted her feelings for minho , and the two kissed , becoming official right before wckd attacked .
