Hawk Aisha was standing in front of Emerald's father while he told them about his time in the war. Miguel and Emerald sat on the floor stretching. "Badass" Hawk said and Emerald shook her head. "Read was no joke," Kreese said as Emerald and Miguel stood up. "Don't you mean Somalia? Mogadishu is in Somalia, and Rwanda is a whole different country. Miguel said correcting the girl's father.
"Of course, Somalia" here father said chuckling. "I've spent so much time in the sandbox, it all kind of bleeds together you know," he said turning back to the other two teens. Emerald turned to see johnny walking out the back of the dojo. "Listen up" he called out.
"I see we got some new recruits, Everybody falls in" Everyone fell in and Johnny began walking down the row. Emerald couldn't see but she heard when Johnny began talking to someone. "Parents can't stay for class its an insurance thing" "I'm not a dad I'm here to kick ass sir" he heard the man replied. "Do I know you from somewhere?" Johnny asked him. "Yeah. I sold you the mirror. We kind of bonded" he said replying. "Look, your a little too old this is a class for teenagers" The man said how he can take the students and that he had money to spend.
Johnny went back to the front of the dojo. "I thought my last group of recruits was pathetic but if you do what I tell you to do, you'll at least have a chance of becoming a fighter, but to do that you got a fight so which one of you has the ball's to take on the champ," johnny said. There was a moment of silence.
All of a sudden Emerald heard a girl speak up "I'll take him on." " Oh you will?"johnny asked. "I saw your little demo at the valley vest you guys put on the show. Can you actually fight?" Emerald and Aisha smiled. "That sounds like a challenge" johnny spoke. "I like a challenge" she said. "mr. Diaz shows little Miss Hotshot here with cobra Kai is all about" Johnny said as everyone cleared the mat.
Emerald and Aisha stood beside each other as Miguel and the girl stood on the center of the mat. Miguel sighed "look are you sure that you wanna do this? Miguel said before he could he was kicked in the chest by the girl. "OH," everyone said gasping. "Alright, Game on," Miguel said.
The fight started and Miguel was able to take down the girl in the group twice. "We're telegraphing," Miguel warned as the girl fell. "Don't let them see it coming," he continued, but the girl managed to tackle him. "Did you see that coming?" she asked as he wrapped his legs around the girl, causing her to fall. "Maybe," He replied. "My name is Miguel," he said, offering her his arm. "Tory," she said, taking it and then flipping him. "With a y."
The crowd applauded as Hawk and Emerald approached to assist Miguel. Emerald and Aisha introduced themselves. "Badass," Hawk remarked. "Maybe even better than Emerald," he added, putting his arm around her. Emerald grabbed his arm and twisted it. "Go away, dick," she said.
Johnny called out for everyone to find a partner and practice together. Aisha and Hawk, as always, joined forces for sparring. After his match, Miguel proposed that Tory face off against Emerald. Emerald agreed and they both assumed fighting positions. Emerald deflected Tory's punches, dodged, and went for her legs. Once the fight was over, Emerald assisted Tory in getting back up.
