A Mid-Night Crisis

A few hours later Cale woke up again to see all of his kids cuddling next to him. He smiled gently as he got up from the bed slowly as to not wake them up. That when he realize that there were other people in the room with him as he looked around to see his comrades sleeping faces. Though not all of them were asleep as Eruhaben was sitting on his rocking chair while reading a book.

'Wow. I never thought he would be interested in reading something that is not related to magic or knowledge.'

Cale though as he walked quietly towards him without making a single sound. That was until he spoke.

"Hello Eruhaben."

The gold dragon's eyes shook in surprise as he turn his head so fast he may have snapped his neck. He was just about to open his mouth when Cale interrupted him not wanting anyone to wake up.

"I'll explain everything once they are all awake so just wait for some time, then you can ask me whatever you want."

This was probably the first time he ever interrupted a dragon when they were about to speak but at the moment Cale didn't really cared as only one thing was on his mind.

'It best to explain everything once they're all awake. And maybe if I'm lucky they won't leave me but what are the chances. I mean I just came and pretended to be someone I'm not. Heck who knows what Ron and Beacrox would do.'

Cale didn't notice due to him being to deep in his thoughts but his face turn to that of pain. And considering that he rarely shows his pain, Eruhaben who was with his sighed deeply while deep down he was actually really worried what happen to his child.

He walked over to Cale whose face returned to that of being neutral when he noticed him walking towards him. But before he could speak, this time is was the dragon who interrupted him.

"As much as I want an explanation I can wait. Now go back to sleep it clearly to late for you to even stay awake."

Cale looked at him with a shocked face as he replied.

"Didn't I just slept for an entire day?"

Eruhaben mouth went quiet as his face showed his true feeling of being dumbfounded as clear as the dark sky of the night on his face. He sighed as he regain his composure.

'Seriously what am I suppose to do with you?'

"Then how about we have a chat?"

"Excuse me?"

Cale wasn't sure why a prideful creature like a dragon would want to talk to him.

"Tell me about the types of games you humans like. Maybe there would be one that interesting."

He had a feeling that his father figure of a dragon won't take no for an answer so he replied with an exasperated face.

"Fine."

Eruhaben smiled in success as he distracted Cale from whatever was hurting his mind. Don't get him wrong he wanted to know but knew that he can't force him so the next best thing he could do is distract him from such thoughts.

'Don't worry my child. As long as I'm still alive I won't let anyone hurt you, be it mentally or physically, live in this world. So just relax for now. You deserved it after all the shit we made you go through this few days. Especially the one where we drugged. So just let your mind be at peace. We won't ever force the truth out of you again. That a dragon's promise.'
