Chapter 11: The Final Bid

[sorry guys and girls today's chapter is shorter that usally and i got a bit sick again :/.]

"Ladies and gentlemen, nobles and adventurers! It is my highest honor to stand before you tonight.

"I presume that all you esteemed guests have gathered here today for one reason and one reason only:

"For the chance to obtain some of the rarest and most valuable items in this auction!

"But before we begin, if everyone in the audience would kindly turn to the south.

"Please join me in welcoming a few exceedingly important figures who have blessed us with their presence:

"The very King and Queen of Sapin."

Everyone bows.

"And next, but certainly not least:

"The man who made this entire event possible!

"Please give a big round of applause for Vincent Helstea!"

Clapping my hands as his speech finally concluded, I had to admit he knew how to entertain and engage the audience without causing any offense. Uncle Vincent must have carefully selected him, and I believe he trained extensively on what to say.

I walked to the bar. "One cocktail, please," I asked the bartender. After a bit, he handed me my drink. "Here's your order, sir," he said, presenting the cocktail. "Thank you," I replied, taking the glass.

Observing the people around me, I occasionally took a sip of the cocktail, which was incredibly tasty—perhaps the best one I had ever had. It made sense, considering the king and his family were here; only the finest would be served. My gaze eventually landed on Sebastian, watching him closely.

Since days ago, every time we went to the market, people would follow us. When I captured one of them to get information, that bastard's name was mentioned repeatedly.

Anyway, it seems Uncle Vincent wasn't joking when he said he prepared a lot for this event. There are numerous A-ranked and B-ranked items, and even beast cores, which have caught the king's interest. The king himself has bid on several A-ranked items.

I glanced at Sebastian again. What is he doing so near Sylvie? Using the Body Flicker Technique, I appeared next to Sylvie, who immediately jumped on me. "Don't worry, little one. No one will hurt you while you're next to me and Arthur."

I then looked at Sebastian again and activated the Mangekyou Sharingan. "If you touch my brother's pet, I promise you won't see the light again." Before he could say anything, I used the Body Flicker Technique once more, arriving next to Arthur, who was searching for her. Sylvie leapt to him, and I said, "Pay more attention, Arthur, or you'll lose her."

Hearing me, Arthur responded, "I will, and thank you."

I gave him a smile. "Don't worry, that's what big brothers are for." However, he gave me a weird look. Do I have an ugly smile? Why does he always give me that face when I smile in front of him?

I walked over to Ellie, Lilia, and the princess, who were engrossed in a game. When I arrived, I gently tapped Lilia on the shoulder.

"Hey, Lilia. I've got a question," I said.

Surprised by the tap, Lilia turned around and responded, "What is it, Sasuke?"

"Do I have an ugly smile?" I asked, giving an small smilie and glancing over at Arthur. "He always gives me a weird look whenever I smile."

Hearing this, Arthur smiled and shook his head, but before he could say anything, the princess and Lilia blushed. Ellie chimed in, "Bwother's got a nice smile!"
