The Next Morning

*Amadeus's POV*

I laid there, my eyes closed, the comforting warmth of fire remaining despite the dying flames, just then I felt someone shake me

Geoffrey: Oi, mate, wake up

 I rubbed my good eye as I sat up, and pushed him away cause he was in my face, and stretched with a yawn, but I still felt stiff from laying on cave floor all night

Antoine: Bonjour mon ami!

Me: Morning..

Elias: *brushes himself off* Remind me to never sleep near the fire again

Geoffrey: Why? You get burned?

Elias: Got close to it

I adjusted my eyepatch as I stood up

Me: Now, let's go

I walked towards the entrance of the cave as they all followed me, then Elias got in front of the group and lead the rest of us away, I stretched again as we left

Antoine: Yeah, ze rock is not ze best thing to sleep on

Me: Mhm

Elias: Come on guys! Stop dilly dallying

Me: We're not dilly dallying!

Elias rolled his eyes before we continued walking

An Hour Later

Elias and Geoffrey were in the front, talking about something, Antoine was in the middle by himself, and I was in the back, constantly looking around for someone or something to attack us, then Antoine slowed down so he was walking beside me

Antoine: You alright mon ami? You seem..as zey say..on ze edge

Me: It's on edge Antoine, not on the edge. And I'm fine, just keeping an eye on things

Antoine: What things?

Me: What do you think? For all we know, Naugus could send his new lackey's to come kill us so we never can get the crown back

Antoine: Meh, I think we will get eet back

Elias then suddenly stopped, his eyes wide and he seemed like he just got an idea

Elias: Guys. I just recognized this place and realized. The S.F.F base is a lot closer than Megan's house, and we can stop there to get more help!

Geoffrey: Ah, but no one just stays there 24/7, what if we don't find anyone?

Elias: Now, that's where you're wrong! There is someone who stays there 24/7, due to being a literal former killer robot

Geoffrey: Oooh! Him!

Me: Who?

Antoine: Shard

Me: Who's Shard?

Elias: We'll explain later, but he's basically the original Mecha Sonic, but he's on our side now

Me: *sigh* Why are we asking for help from someone who has literally tried to kill my son and the entirety of the Freedom Fighters?!

Elias's smiled disappeared, and he glared at me

Elias: Cause he's helped plenty and deserves some damn credit

Geoffrey: Yeah, agreed

I turned to Antoine, who shrugged

Antoine: He saved me in ze past from Metal

I groaned and looked up at the sky with my eyes closed, then looked down and rubbed my forehead
