Chapter 9 - 2012-2015 worst mistake of my life

Lauren's POV
Jake had just let go of the embrace we were in as soon as we heard a door open across the room ...
"Well what do u have here ?"
Says a voice followed by footsteps ...
When I turn around I see brad and this girl ... I can't see her face because she was wearing a black hoodie and glasses ..
I say " I'm leaving brad .. U can't keep me here "
Brad says " oh babe .. I'm afraid if u leave then the next time I have you I'll make sure they don't find you .." He dad walking closer to me with an evil smirk on his face ..
Jake gets in front of me still keeping a grip on me to protect me .. Wait hold up ... He was holding me ... Does he like me ? Seriously Lauren he was just protecting you from brad !! He can't like you ? He has Danika with him .. She's probably getting her hair done right now waiting for Jake to come back ..suddenly the mystery girl come closer to Jake and guides her hand across his jawline and says " stay away from Lauren ... Cause if anything happens bewteen you guys .. She's getting hurt " Jake harshly takes her hand away "and who the fuck are you to tell me what to do " he says
She takes off her glasses and says " are you sure about that Jake " I look over and his face has a blank expression while looking at the familiar blonde hair with sky blue eyes that I've seen for years ...

Danika Johnson was in front of me ...

Jakes POV
What the fuck ?!! Danika was helping that bastard ...
I say " what the hell Danika .. What are u doing here "
She says " I took an opportunity Jake .... I took the chance to stop the girl who's getting in my way "
I stare at her in awe of shock and anger ...
Brad gets closer to Lauren and whispers in her ear .. When he pulls back and walks away ... I look at Lauren to see her face pale and scared ..He says " I'm letting you go babe ... Remember what I've been telling you unless u want to end up back here again "
I say "don't you dare call her that .."
I was upset that she was even here in the first place .. Then I find out that he abused her .. The. I find out that Danika was helping him .. And now he's calling her babe and baby ... Literally what the fuck is wrong with him ? I'm supposed to be calling her that ...

Wait .. What !
I can't stop living like this anymore ... I need to tell her how I feel cause I'm getting stressed just looking at her and knowing what she does to me ...
I need to tell her ... And it has to be quick .. I'm not sure if she can protect me or even if I can't protect .. I just need to tell someone I have feelings for Lauren and how I might be in love with her ...

Lauren's POV
Jake drove me home and now he was inside my house talking to me ..
"How do you feel " he says concerned
"I feel better . I'm just happy I'm out of there "I say relieved cause for the first time in a week I could speak ..
" I'm glad .. Where are you parents lo"
He's using my nickname!!!?
" my mom is out of town on business and my dad is at work right now "
"Do u have a brother or sister " looking at pictures in the living room
"Yeah I have a brother and a sister .. Taylor and Chris "
" that's cool .. Are u older "
" Taylor is one year older and Chris is about two years older "
" so Taylor's a senior and Chris is in collage " I nod happily .. Taylor and Chris were my best friends beside the girls ... I don't know what I would do without them ...
Jake walks toward the front door and says "I'm glad your okay Lauren .. "
He leans in for a hug and wraps his arms around me .. I hug him back in a friendly way "thank you Jake "
Jake pulls away and says " your welcome lo"
I notice that he's getting lost in my eyes .. And so am I ... I don't want to kiss him because of what brad said to me before we left .

FLASHBACK
Brad leans in and whispers in my ear and says " lo we both know what I could do to Jake .. So I advise to stay the hell away unless you want to see pretty boy here get hurt .." He pulls away and walks away

END OF FLASHBACK
He looks from my eyes to me lips in hesitation of to kiss me or not .
His lips brush mine before I pull away .. Even though it only lasted a second it made electricity run through my body ..
I say " we can't do that "
" why not ?" He says sadly
" we both heard what Danika and brad said .... I'm not getting hurt by him .. I'm not going back to the past Jake "
My anger shows in my voice as He says " I heard what they said Lauren .. And that's why I'm here . I'm trying to protect you "
He says raising his voice on the last part
" and I'm grateful for that it I can't let this go too far .. " I say raising my voice once again getting frustrated that he didn't just accept the fact that I can't let him into my life ..
He raises his voice at me " I care about you Lauren .. Fuck that .. I have real feelings for you ... And if you can't or you're scared of brad that you don't want to accept that I like you .. Then I'm gonna have you in my life " he says
" Jake it's not like I don't have feeling for you either . I like you too but I can't get hurt by the guy who abused me and only wanted to use me to get back with Danika and...."
Jake says softer "lo what did he do to you "
I say " nothing Jake please just leave .." I say softly as well . I can't tell him what he did to me .. He would get to upset ..
" bab- lo what did he do .. Please tell me .. I'm here to be here for you "
He says ....
" he raped me Jake .. Are u happy I finally told you " I say looking up at him ..
He doesn't say a word and his expression is weird .. It shows too many expressions at once . He doesn't say a word before walking out .... I see the door slam ... I walk to the window and see him walking to his car with clenched fists and a tight jaw ..
I whisper to myself
" I need to stay away from him , I can't hurt him .." As I walk to the couch and wait for my mom to get home ..

Jakes POV
I get a call from Danika as I walk through my front door .. I'm really pissed off right now at brad
...
" what the hell do you want Danika "
" well hello to you too babe " she says
" don't call me that .. " I say through gritted teeth ..
" I told you to stay away from her Jake "
" I can't and I won't Danika and we both know that " I say harshly
" we both know what happens know don't we ?" She says and I could imagine how she looks right now smirking through the phone ?
" if either of you lay a finger on her .. Your gonna be in a lot of trouble " I say raising my voice
" who knows maybe we already did or planning too .. You better be counting your moments with her Jake .. Cause we both know what happens " and hangs up

Why did I ever get with Danika ?
I swear that 2012-2015 was the worst mistake of my life ! I need to protect Lauren ..
