Chapter 5- secret

Lauren's pov
We were gonna have the spotlight dance ... I love to dance but the one person I didn't want to dance with is Jake ... He gives me feelings I can't describe and I can't get him out of my damn mind ... I can't fall in love again , especially not after "him" . I look down to my arms to see goosebumps as I'm thinking about him ..
The freaking spotlight chooses me and I almost faint when I see that Jake is the other person picked ... Oh god lets see how this goes ..Dinah playfully pushes me a little to snap me back to reality . I walk to the middle of the dance floor to be met with the whitening smile that Jake has .
Suddenly Lukes voice appears on the stage ,that brings us both back to reality . " so now that we both Lauren and Jake on the floor , let's see what track is next "
Spanish music starts to play ...
Jake whispers in my ear " u know how to dance this " his voice sends shivers down my spine ....
I nod and say " yeah I do , how about u "
He says " I do too , now if u don't mind I would like u to follow my lead "
" that's if u can keep up " I smirk at him .
Jake laughs as we start dancing

Jakes pov
I laugh as we start to dance . Don't get me wrong , she is a really good dancer .
I don't really know if this was fate .. But I needed to know if I had sparks with her .. I saw her tear up towards the end of the song ... As soon as the song ended she ran off .. Leaving me alone in the middle of the dance floor ..I ran off after her . I said to myself " what the hell Jake , what are u doing " I saw her slam a door as she went inside . I knocked softly and said " Lauren what happened are u ok " I hear muffled cries on the other side knowing she's in there .. I hear her open the door to let me in .

Lauren's pov
I let him in to talk ... It's amazing how I'm starting to feel towards him .. And that's bad .. Really bad ...... He says " what's wrong " he says concerned
" I can't take it anymore ... " I suddenly take out my phone and show him the text I got earlier

Jakes pov
" do you have a boyfriend " I say .. I feel jealously as she hesitates to answer the question .. Wait did I just feel .. Jealously ... What wrong with me .?!
She says " used too " so she has an ex ...
I hug her " but that still doesn't answer my question Lauren . What happened that u started to cry ."
I hear her sigh ... As she says " I feel like I need someone in my life ... But can't feel that feeling again or have someone else cause the results will be bad " she starts to tear up again .
I hug her a little tighter to let her know that I care .. But I was right ... My arms fit perfectly around her waist as her arms fit perfectly around my torso .. She sadly smiles up at me " thanks for coming for me .. U didn't really have too " she begins to let herself loose out of my grasp , my heart was tugging at her for letting me have her ..... I look at her lips , looking perfectly soft and smooth and loving .. What am I saying .. Wow this is bad , yet I never felt so right in my entire life . I pull her back into me and kiss her ... She seems surprised but kisses me back . I wrap my arms around her waist and pull her closer . Everything seemed so right in the moment but then she pulls away and walks out the door with out saying another word ...
I sigh and sit down on the couch and say " what the hell Jake " and leave the room .
Lauren's pov
I run to the girls and tell them that I needed to tell them and show them what happened . I touch my lips still in surprise that Jake kissed me .. And for the first time in a long time it felt right ...
