I nervously fidget with the hem of my shirt as I wait in the small examination room, trying to calm my racing mind. I can't believe I'm finally here, three months pregnant and ready to confirm what I've only just begun to truly accept. My heart flutters with anticipation, and I can't help but feel a mix of excitement and worry.
The door swings open, and a friendly-faced doctor walks in, smiling warmly. "Hello there! Congratulations on your pregnancy. I'm Dr. Bennett. How are you feeling today?"
I return her smile, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. "Hi, Dr. Bennett. I'm Y/n. I'm feeling a bit nervous, but overall, good, I think." I can't help but chuckle a little at my own uncertainty.
"Perfectly normal!" She reassures me, patting my hand gently. "Now, let's get started, shall we?"
As Dr. Bennett proceeds with the appointment, asking questions about my health and going through the necessary checks, my mind drifts to the moment I found out I was pregnant. The positive test, the stunned silence between Nico and I, and then the tearful, joyful embrace that followed. The past few months have been a whirlwind, but I couldn't be happier.
Fast forward a few hours later, I open the front door to our home, my body aching and heavy with exhaustion. The smell of something delicious wafts through the air, and my stomach growls in response. I smile, knowing that my amazing husband Nico has once again come to my rescue.
"Nico?" I call out, my voice barely above a whisper. "I'm home!"
He appears from the kitchen, a dish towel tossed over his shoulder and a beaming smile on his face. "Welcome home, mamma-to-be! How did your appointment go?"
I can't help but feel my heart swell with love for this incredible man who has supported me every step of the way. I take a deep breath, preparing myself to share the news I've been anxiously waiting to tell him. "It went well, actually. Dr. Bennett confirmed the pregnancy, and she says that everything looks good so far!"
Nico's face lights up, and he pulls me into a tight hug, lifting me off the ground. "That's amazing, Y/n! I'm so happy for you, for us! I love you so much."
I laugh, feeling a warmth spread through my entire body. "I love you too, Nico. Thank you for being here for me."
He sets me back down, and then takes my hand, leading me to the table where a beautiful, home-cooked meal awaits us. "Now, sit down and rest. You deserve it. I'll get you some water, and then we can eat."
As Nico tends to me, I can't help but feel grateful for this incredible man in my life. We chat about the day, our hopes and dreams for our little one, and the excitement of what's to come.
Once we've finished eating, Nico excuses himself to check on our 8-month-old daughter, Bianca. I lean back in my chair, feeling my eyelids grow heavy. The day has been long, but filled with so much joy and love.
A few minutes later, Nico returns, Bianca cradled in his arms. She's fast asleep, her tiny face peaceful and content. My heart melts at the sight of her, and I can't help but feel a swell of emotion.
"She's such a little angel," I whisper, reaching out to gently stroke her cheek. "Thank you, Nico, for everything. I don't know what I'd do without you."
He smiles, his eyes filled with warmth and love. "You're welcome, Y/n. I'll always be here for you, for us. And now, let's get you to bed. You need your rest."
As Nico helps me up and leads me to our room, I can't help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. My heart is full, my body tired, but my spirit is stronger than ever. With Nico by my side and our little family growing, I know that together, we can face whatever challenges life has in store for us.
With a grateful sigh, I crawl into bed, the weight of the day finally catching up to me. Nico tucks me in, pressing a gentle kiss to my forehead. "Goodnight, Y/n. I love you."
I smile, feeling my eyes grow heavy. "I love you too, Nico. Goodnight."
And with that, I drift off to sleep, my dreams filled with the love, joy, and promise of the future.
