I was pacing around my room, the room I stayed in during the trials. It looked the same except none of my stuff that I left here was anywhere to be seen. Not that a lot was left, I almost didn't have anything. I had checked the windows and they were all locked.

I felt trapped, and...
And scared.

I walked over to the window again and tries to open it yet again. then I walked over to the bed and slumped down, I felt defeated. I heard a knock on the door and stood up quickly. The handcuffs had been removed once I stepped inside my room, a couple of hours ago.

The door swung slowly open and the first thing I noticed where those eyes, those green eyes. Identical to the person who insured that my father would die. They were cold, just like his. I shuddered and looked anywhere but at his eyes.

He took a few steps into the room and I could feel my blade heavy in my boot. The same blade I murdered his father with. "Tell me what you think" I looked up at him, not at his eyes but at his face none the less.

"What?" my voice was slightly horse.

"Tell me what you're thinking" he didn't move closer to me, "you always did tell me the truth, I hope me being king doesn't change that" he chuckled slightly but it died quickly.

"Go on" I took a deep breath at his words.

"Well, I don't see why you" I put emphases on the word you. "Would want to marry someone like me and diffidently not me" he closed the door behind him.

He probably saw how I tensed and leaned against the door, "that's the question isn't it?" He said and looked at me. His eyes tried to make contact with mine.

"Why are you doing that?" Kitt asked.

"What?" I looked at my feet and saw the hilt of my dagger in my boot. The same dagger I killed the father of the man standing in front of me with.

"You won't look me in the eye, why?" I looked at my hands, spinning the ring on my thumb around and around.

"I have looked at you plenty" I said honestly.

"But not anymore" he said and pushed off the wall.

"Your eyes, like I said before, remind me of someone" he walked slowly towards me.

"Is that someone still alive" I looked up at him and met his eyes, I was shocked. His eyes were on mine, right before he started to drive his sword down my throat.
No, not those eyes.

Those eyes were somehow soft, still able to look affectionate towards his father's murderer. I didn't know how he could, how he had the power to look me into the eyes without as much hate as his father had. How much hate Kai had when he saw me run from the kings body. No the former kings body.

How could Kitt look at me with affection and kindness when he looks so much like that man with more hate than anyone else?

His eyes hardened the slightest, but I saw it. It felt like a punch to the face, but I couldn't really say anything. I had made his eyes this way.

Me.

Kitt's mouth tilted just the slightest bit up, it was unnoticeable for anyone that didn't look directly at him.

I didn't answer him, he stood a few feet away from me.

"I will be expecting you for dinner tomorrow" he said before he turned around and left.
