For New Year's the Swan-Webbers were invited to the Cullen residence. Edward opened the door with a smile, "Hi Lucy, Angela, Chief Swan."
"Edward, hi", Lucy smiled at him gently, walking past him and taking off her shoes. A designated pair of house-shoes was now standing under the coat rack on a shoe stand that held all the Cullen's shoes. She exchanged her shoes for the fuzzy slippers and gestured for her father and sister to follow inside.
"Come on, the rest of the family's in the living room", Edward led the way to where Emmet, Jasper, Alice and Esme were deeply into a game of Wii Sports Bowling, a game Lucy had gifted Emmet after he had gotten way too good and therefore competitive at Mario Kart.
"This game is rigged, what the hell?", Emmett called out when Esme rolled a strike, turning to him with a celebratory fist pulled into her side.
"It's not rigged, Emmett, you just let go of the button to soon and then your balls don't catch speed", Alice explained, for probably not the first time.
"I don't let go too soon, I am doing exactly what the game says."
"Not to interject or anything but, Emmett, you almost never do what you're told so I doubt you're listening to what your Mii tells you to do", upon Lucy's comment she heard Rosalie's laugh from somewhere in the house and soon enough the gorgeous blonde entered the living ares.
"Good one", she pointed at her teacher with a smirk and walked past them into the kitchen.
"This- this is a beautiful house", Charlie let out, looking around impressed.
"Lucy helped us decorate it just recently, we hadn't done much yet. It feels a lot cosier now", Esme smiled gently, putting an arm around Lucy's shoulder before quickly leaving the conversation when it was her turn once again.
Esme had explained to her that she and Charlie were not Mates. Esme was simply kind to just about anyone, ever, and Charlie had been temporarily infatuated with Esme's beauty - which were not her words. In fact, she had explained that the concept of Mates was fairly rare and sometimes the feeling was one-sided.
For a moment it had gotten Lucy to think. Carlisle, too, was extremely handsome, and she was only human. Was she, too, just infatuated by his looks and kindness?
The second Carlisle came down the stairs with a beaming smile at the sight in front of him, the thought was tossed aside, though, and she walked up to him with a content smile of her own, "Hi."
"Hi", he put an arm around her but as respectful as he was, didn't dare to kiss her in front of everyone, including her father, "Hello, Charlie."
"Hi Carlisle, love the place."
"Thank you", he smiled and looked down at Lucy, searching for her confirmation and upon her nod he looked at Angela, "There is actually something we wanted to show you, Angela."
"Me?", she furrowed her brows, snapping out of the trance she'd been in as she looked around, "Why?"
"Well, er", Lucy cleared her throat uncomfortably, "We thought, maybe you wanted to see more of the house as there is a chance we could, er, well, move in here. Not now", she quickly added, "But someday."
Angela smiled, "Okay."
"Okay", Lucy stepped out of Carlisle's embrace, giving him the sign that she'd do this on her own to make Angela a little more comfortable so he gave her the key and nodded at her to go, "Dad, do you want to come, too?"
"Sure", he had one final look around and then followed the girls towards the door by the stairs, "Are we going to Angela's room?"
"Potentially", Lucy nodded as they walked down the corridor with the gorgeous view of the woods. She unlocked the door to the studio and let Angela and Charlie walk past her into the room where Angela looked around in awe.
