Circe Riddle (Book 4)

Chapter 2

TW: Daggers, torture, mentions of abuse, drinking

(Summer: July- August and September)

I cleaned the dagger off and put it in a safe place using magic so I didn't have to leave his side. "Where's Mattheo?" I asked

"He was sleeping, I didn't want to wake him"

I reached out for Mattheo's mind with the connection we had and found out he was very much awake. He's in my room. I told Mattheo in our minds. A couple seconds later he was at the door. He came in and sat on the other side of Theodore.

"Theo?" Mattheo asked

Theodore hugged Mattheo, fully wrapping his arms around him and Mattheo wrapped his arms around him too. Mattheo looked up at me for answers. For now, just give him a dreamless sleep potion and we will talk tomorrow if he wants. I told him in my mind. He nodded his head and picked Theodore up. I helped open and close the door.

After they were gone I pulled out the dagger and inspected it, trying to figure out where Theodore could have gotten it.

(Mattheo's pov)

I carried Theo to our room while he was clinging onto me like I was the only thing keeping him alive. What had happened, and why had he gone to talk to Circe instead of talking to me? Maybe he didn't want to wake me up, but waking up and him being gone almost gave me a heart attack, especially since it was the middle of the night.

I put him down on the bed and grabbed the potion then gave it to him. He fell asleep quickly and I stayed up trying to think about what could have happened.

The next morning he talked to me about what he told Circe and he was able to stay relatively calm throughout it all.

For the rest of the month, in between missions Circe helped him control his magic a little more and I helped out the best I could too without making it feel like we were babying him.

At the start of August, father had us move to a new area and we had to pack up everything in the flat.

We had less missions in August and focused more on strengthening our magic.

(Circe's pov)

In the middle of August I sent a letter to the Headmaster about Cade joining Hogwarts. He replied back a week later and told me that they would love to have her for this upcoming year. I went to tell her in person, I also wanted to get away from all the Death Eater stuff.

I left the flat and apparated away in the afternoon. Cade was so happy to see me as well as a couple other people, including Lu and Tamara. I told Cade the news and she thanked me before jumping up and down around in a circle.

"How's the magic?" Tamara asked

"It's good" I wanted to ask about books and stuff that might be able to help Theo but I didn't know if she would have any that weren't on tablets and I don't know if she wanted to give me that information.

"What's wrong, there's something else you want to ask me, Isn't there?" She tilted her head at me

I explained the whole Theodore situation, well not all of it but mainly just what mattered. She nodded her head "We do actually have a whole library of books, most of the books we have online we also have in the library, I have heard of things that that happening before and I probably have a couple books that can help you"

"You had a library the whole time and yet you made me use those weird muggle tablet devices?"

She let out a small laugh "Yeah, they are easier to use, you don't have to take the time to find the page number, you just search up what you're looking for and it comes up"
