Chapter 32: The Traitor???

You were exhausted from yesterday's encounter with the dragons and woke up late today. The sounds of voices from the hall reached your ears as you freshened up and stepped out of your room. In the hall, you saw Eunwoo standing with an older man. You rubbed your eyes and recognized him from the group picture of the Bangtan Army—the traitor.

RM: Y/N, it's good you came.

You: Good morning.

Eunwoo: Y/N, this is my father, Yoon-ho.

Suga: He is a traitor!

Eunwoo: He had his reasons!

Suga: Reasons to betray the people who trusted him the most!

RM: Y/N, the case is becoming more and more complicated. What do you think we should do?

You could see silent guilt in the old man's teary eyes, his inner conflicts, and his helplessness. After thinking for a few seconds, you replied.

You: Who told us he is a traitor?

RM: Uncle Jeon.

You: Then let him decide what to do.

Jin: Yes, Y/N is right. Uncle Jeon and my mom know what happened at that time.

Hobi: Jin-hyung is right!

RM: Okay then, let's call Uncle Jeon.

Namjoon used his mind links to call Mr. Jeon.

Mr. Jeon: Yes, child, tell me what's the matter...

Before he could finish, his eyes fell on Yoon-ho, and a mix of sadness and anger covered his face.

Mr. Jeon: What is this unholy person doing here?

Yoon-ho: Jeon, I can explain!

Eunwoo's father said with teary eyes and a cracking voice.

Mr. Jeon: What can you explain? That you betrayed us? That you joined Dan-agma? That our emperor died? What do you have to explain?

Yoon-ho: Please, listen to me once!

Mr. Jeon: I don't even want to see your face. Get out of here, NOW!

Yoon-ho: Heemuk had my wife and kids. He already killed one of my children and was about to kill the other. I saw my son dying right in front of my eyes! He left me with no option. I had to save them.

Mr. Jeon: You could have talked about this. We could have helped. But no, you decided to betray!

Yoon-ho: He didn't give me time to even think. All I had was my dying family right in front of my eyes. I never wanted to betray you all. Why would I?

Mr. Jeon: Why didn't you come back? Why didn't you try to contact us?

Yoon-ho: I did! I tried to find you everywhere. I wanted to tell you about Heemuk's intentions before the war. But he's clever. He kept such a close watch on me that I couldn't escape or contact you, he even kept count of my breathes!

Mr. Jeon: After the war? Did you never bother about us? Did you forget us?

Yoon-ho: How could I? I tried to break the locks of the basement where Mrs. Cho was kept. I searched for your traces in the graveyard, the war zone, everywhere I could, but all I found was defeat.

Suddenly, Mr. Jeon placed a hard slap on Yoon-ho's cheek, loud enough for everyone to hear.

Mr. Jeon: This is for betraying us.

He slapped Yoon-ho on the other cheek.

Mr. Jeon: This is for not sharing the matter with us.

Jungkook stepped forward to stop his father, but you held his wrist and gestured for him to stay silent. Another slap came.

Mr. Jeon: This is for making me wait!

And all of a sudden, he pulled Yoon-ho into a tight embrace.

Mr. Jeon: I missed you!

Yoon-ho: I missed you too!

They stayed in the embrace for a while, tears flowing from both men's eyes. When they finally broke the hug, Mr. Jeon spoke.

Mr. Jeon: Head of the Magical Creatures Army, Cha Yoon-ho, welcome back to the Bangtan Army!

Yoon-ho: Thank you So much Jeon. I swear I will never repeat my mistake.

They hugged again, and this time everyone joined in. After the emotional reunion, you all sat for a calm and peaceful lunch.

At the dining table:

You: So, Uncle, how did you find out about the Army reuniting?

Yoon-ho: Heemuk was really angry when you defeated him at the public meeting. He told all his men to find you, and he confided everything to me as his "trusted servant." As soon as I heard about the Bangtan Army, I started searching for you all and found that you were at the headquarters. I kept an eye on your activities to find a way to confront you. When I learned about your mission to collect dragons, I sent Eunwoo to win your trust. After he did, I introduced myself. And here I am.

Mr. Jeon: As clever as you were back then.

Yoon-ho: Learned from you!

You all giggled and enjoyed lunch, reminiscing about the Bangtan Army. Your hope for victory grew stronger with each passing day as you prepared for the defeat of Dan-agma.
