Another year passed by, making it 2 years after the Hao-clan's creation, and the deadline to welcome Rimuru-san into this world draws near. So many things transpired over these years. One moment stands out vividly in my memory: the day Nox suddenly inquired about his Ogre parents. He looked at me with a mix of hope and uncertainty and asked, "Do you think she is somewhere? You told me ogres live long..."

I paused before responding, "There's a chance of that, but... what if that's not the case?"

He looked puzzled, "...Huh?"

"You should be familiar with the pattern of these kinds of things by now," I continued. "You heard many stories while living at the Hao clan's headquarters. What if she left you there because she was ostracized by her ogre tribe? Could that be the reason for your current situation? Or what if she was taken by a human slave trader? What are you planning to ask her if you meet her? 'Did you really abandon me?' Is that what you want to know? And how do you think you'll react if the answer isn't what you expect?"

"What... do you mean?"

"If the answer doesn't live up to your expectations... are you going to kill them all?"

It's obvious, the boy who does not hesitate to kill, the orphan that I picked up in front of me now was in great doubt. How should he use his newfound powers now that he is much stronger than those who used to oppress him? If you're a Chinese main character or a Sasuke, then you would have an immediate answer: revenge. But he isn't that foolish. The boy I picked up shouldn't be that foolish. Not someone who believes he's the "One above all" and acts like the world revolves around him.

Imagine this: you're a complete nobody, even if you've regressed, transmigrated, or whatever. Maybe you were some immortal cultivator in a past life, living for countless years and supposedly mature enough to handle any situation. Then one day, you find yourself with a chance to save a rich old man who's dying. Only you know how to save him because of your cultivation knowledge. The old man has a worried son-in-law. You say you can save him. What do you do next?

A. Explain in simple terms what's wrong with the patient and how your method will save his life. Or...

B. Slap and punch the patient because why not? Out of all your supposed years of wisdom, this is the best treatment you can think of. Naturally, the son-in-law gets furious and orders his bodyguards to kill you. But that doesn't matter because, once the old man wakes up, he'll be so grateful that he'll break off his son-in-law's engagement and push his daughter to marry you instead. Of course, you didn't do any of this on purpose.

Obviously, it's B! It's always B! The B that stands for Bullshit! You're a fucking immortal that lives countless times, explain clearly without making a mess out of everything just because you can!!!

(A/N: Ok I'll stop ranting now--- NOT! I'M TALKING ABOUT YOU, YOU STUPID "Rebirth of the Urban Immortal Cultivator"!!!! Wait, was that the right manhua...? Probably not, but they all have the same plot either way so my point still stands.)

"What?! No, why would I do something so stupid? If my mother left me because she didn't want to accept me, then I'll just go away. I'll just go back to living with Ryn and you."

Umu, umu... right, there's no way my disciple would be so foolish. "Good, you have a human's common sense. Now, you'll learn the monsters'. I'll take you and your sister there. Prepare yourselves well."

"Good, you have a human's common sense. Now, you'll learn the monsters'. I'll take you and your sister there. Prepare yourselves well." Thus, I took them there.

It was too large to be called a village but not quite big enough to be considered a town, with an estimated population of over 300 ogres, possibly more. The place was not only peaceful but also styled like a traditional Japanese village.
