The whole point of writing fan fiction is to fill the void left after finishing the original story, especially when you can't accept its ending. It's a form of self-fulfillment. As a result, fanfics often lack the complexity of well-developed plots, complete with rising action and complications.
Instead, everything tends to resolve effortlessly, either by the main character overcoming challenges without difficulty or through the intervention of the author's self-insert character.
ABSOLUTELY nothing bad will happen inside the world of a fanfic because it's always a good ending made by fans.
However...
There was a book called "Tensura: Murim Chronicles," a fanfic written by a Patreon author back on Earth. It was terrible.
In just five chapters, the main character, "Chunma," transmigrated into the Tensura world. As you might guess, Chunma is from Murim and is also known as the "Heavenly Demon Patriarch."
Beloved characters died left and right, and even popular ones like Guy Crimson, Diablo, and Veldora were killed by the main character.
If you explore the author's other fanfics, you'll discover that all the main characters are manipulative psychopaths! Yet, what prevents readers from turning away? One reason is that the characters feel astonishingly real. Emotions are meticulously detailed, even amidst the main characters' psychopathic actions.
'That's exactly how I managed to finish reading that stupid fanfic, Screw that crazy guy(Author)! Why can't you write fanfictions with happy endings instead?!' she thought to herself.
Her life took a turn when she, an ordinary office worker from Earth, died and found herself transmigrated into that very fanfic. Now, she discovered herself transformed into an Oni, one of her favorite races from the original Tensura in her past life.
(A/N: Haha fanfiction go... brrr)
Initially, she was an Ogre when her soul transmigrated. She remembered everything vividly. When she received a name and evolved, her appearance transformed, merging her past looks with her Ogre form, hiding the horns that were supposed to be on her forehead.
As for her name... Her name was Naria. In full, Naria Izawa. She had woken up one day in her house in the Ogre's village. Then one day she wandered off from the village, on the outskirts of Blumund, where she had a fateful encounter with Shizue Izawa.
The shared surname wasn't a mere coincidence. Despite the lack of significant magicule expenditure ,having a name is still more convinient.
"I poured all my effort into reaching the Republic of Ulgracia, where I believed Ramiris might be. By sheer luck, I managed to summon high-ranking elementals. And now, of all times, the main character stands right before me." She thought.
She embarked on a journey with Shizue Izawa, an important character in the story, towards Ulgrassia, located in the southern part of the Sarion Dynasty. Along the way, they encountered many things They met Ramiris, summoned a spirit at the altar of spirits dwelling, and Shizue found a glimmer of hope for rescuing her students.
Obviously, Naria managed to summon one, a high-ranked spirit.
The spirit that is supposed to be meant for giving birth to human heroes was given to a female ogre, thus evolving her into an Oni. Now that she was an Oni, she wielded significant power even among the tribes. She understood her character all too well—her role was to be a snack of the orc lord after the invasion occurred. The realization made her shiver.
"No—I shouldn't be thinking about that now. What's important is... THEY'RE NOT MY KIDS!" she thought to herself while eavesdropping on the conversation between the main character and the chieftain.
"They shouldn't have met in the first place! Why is the main character here?" According to the story, the main character should have been busy recreating the Hao clan, Beggars Union, and the Chunma clan two years after transmigrating as Luca Ashford. Yet, here he was, with two kids who never appeared in the original story. And... they were looking for their mother?!
"Perhaps, Naria-kun?" The chieftain muttered those words loudly, too loud in fact.
"NO, YOU SHITTY OLD MAN!" --she wanted to scream, but she held her tongue, remaining silent until the conversation concluded.
The chief's strange guess was because she had been missing for two years. During that time, she worked hard to get a name and become an Oni. When she came back to the tribe, she started getting ready for the Orc Lord's future attack. For a week, she trained the young Ogres.
The chief was also surprised because her horns were gone. When he asked about it, she just said, "I hid my horns so I could visit human towns."
As she listened to the room, the pivotal moment came. "We will call her here, and... we shall inform the evacuated villagers to return." Sensing the conversation was winding down, she decided it was time to reveal herself. With a determined breath, she slid open the door and stepped into the room.
"You only needed to inform the villagers. Summoning me was unnecessary." Thus, she declared as she revealed herself. The main character immediately turned to look at her. She lacked any fantasy-like appearance, resembling simply a younger human woman without the iconic horns that the Onis usually have. The noticeable changes were in her attire, her face looked as if she had a permanent red-colored eyeliner, her apparent age, which had regressed to 18 years old, and her hazel eyes, now a luminous shade of light blue.
She looks at the main character, then the kids, and she then wants to say something, but the chieftain beats her to it. "Ah, you guys have a lot to talk about, so we'll go calm the villagers down," they said before leaving.
Her face remained cold and emotionless, but to me—hmm? yes, me... Did you think this story was in the third person? Of course not. All those previous narrations were what I perceived through magic perception. Even now, I can hear her thoughts.
It's me, your so-called "manipulative psychopath" main character, Chunma.
Chun, meaning "Heavenly," and Ma, meaning "Demonic" in Korean. In Japanese, it would be "Tenma," but there's already a sword with that name, so I can't use it, can I? Well, it's the same name I used back in murim.
But are you getting this? A woman that was transmigrated into the novel she was reading before her death... Do you know how cliche that is especially in shoujo manhwas?
What, are you the villainess of my story too? My whole life is a measly fanfiction? Well, it doesn't matter to me now since that makes sense of all the cliches I've encountered.
As she settled into a seiza position on the floor, her expression appeared cold to others, but to me, it seemed like she was concealing a face that silently screamed, "Come back here and explain everything clearly, old man!" — summoning the chieftain to return.
