Vic Fuentes.
I watch as Kellin is sound asleep on the couch, It's the most peaceful I've seen him since we moved here. I'm worried about him, it’s so unlike him to act like this. To be scared of every little sound. He's not sleeping properly, he's always on edge and the worst part is that he doesn't talk to me about it. I know he had another dream last night, He looked at me all puzzled and confused talking about a storm keeping me away. I have no idea what's happening to him, and that frightens me. But what if the things he's saying are real and not just in his mind. It can't be, though, there’s no such thing as ghosts. It's just the house making noise, settling in. And as I just said, it only happens when I'm not with him, yeah I hear sounds at night, the squeaking of the stairs or the wind going through the house, but this is an old house, those things are normal, those sounds are normal.
Outside Rambo is running around probably chasing the leaves. He didn't listen when I called him in for his food. He's probably too busy chasing whatever he's chasing. Kellin finally wakes up on the couch. He looks up at me and smiles, I give him one back and gesture for him to come to the kitchen. It doesn't take him long to sit in front of me. I give him a wary look, silently asking if he's okay. He nods and puts on a smile. He's lying though I can see it, and it bugs me.
"How long was I out and where's the dog?" He asks. Rubbing his eyes looking around.
"About an hour and somewhere outside." I say and look at the glass door into the backyard.
The dog is happily running and jumping around playing with leaves or snow, but something else was with him a black figure not another dog or animal but a person, a child. A small, slender boy wearing torn clothes. In shock, I stepped back bumping into Kellin, who gave me look as if to say: "What’s wrong?" I looked back through the window and saw Rambo coming to the house alone. I waved it off in my mind thinking I might have made it up myself, maybe the thoughts of Kellin's dreams are making me see things that aren't really there. I opened the door for him and let him walk through. I took one last look outside seeing absolutely nothing, shrugged my shoulders and was quick to follow Kellin and the dog back into the living room.
Kellin Quinn.
I'm not crazy, I know he saw what I saw. We both saw that black figure playing with Rambo outside. He doesn't seem to care, though. I'm the one freaking out again, not as much as I would have if I were the only one who saw it, but he saw it too. I know he did, maybe I'm not going crazy. I know I'm not going crazy, I know what I saw was real, it has to be. I can't be going insane. I refuse to believe that.
Vic opens the door for Rambo, who immediately came running towards me, licking my hand. I walk out into the living room followed by Rambo and shortly after Vic walks in too, I've seen that he made dinner, but after that, my appetite is gone. I'm acting distant towards him and I know that. I know that he knows that I'm distant, I can also see that it frustrates. Maybe the lack of talking on my part, I know he knows I had some sort of dream last night. I just don't feel comfortable talking to him about it because I know he doesn't believe me, or maybe he does he sure is good at covering it up, though, I don't know. He obviously saw something tonight, and he's obviously thinking about it. I'm just going to be straightforward about this. See where this is going.
"We have to eat, Kellin," He says. Looking at me with a distressed look on his face. Not because he's so concerned about us not eating but because of that thing we saw.
"You saw it too, didn't you?" I blurt out ignoring his statement. I don't need anything. He needs to believe me. He gives me a puzzled look, though, which gets me all frustrated. He's acting like nothing happened but I saw him freak out, I know him well enough, He saw it too.
