The sun brightly reflected on the cold snow that covered everything around me. Often I'd sit on the porch just watching the beauty around me. The thin layer of ice on the lake, the fresh snow on the trees. It felt like lived inside a painting everything seemed too unreal.

The old shed stood all the way back the garden. It was a small wooden building with only one door and no windows. I don't know what I think I would find in there. It is too small to use as a storage room. Besides looking at the condition of the wood, I doubt it's very well isolated. There's probably just gardening tools in there so I doubt I'll find anything interesting in there. I didn't mind, though. I just wanted to be alone for a while, get my mind off of things. It stings having a fight with Vic, I know he loves me it's just. He can be so inconsiderate sometimes like he just doesn't want to understand me. I'm already halfway to the shed when I hear Vic's voice calling my name. He stood on the porch with his arm around his waist to keep warm.

"Put on a coat!" I called "You'll freeze to death!"

"No, not before we talk" He cried back at me.

I caught myself smiling, he's such an idiot sometimes. I ran over to him, the snow crisping underneath my feet. When I reached the porch, I pushed Vic trough the door, forcing him inside.

"I'm sorry," he started "I didn't mean to pick a fight with you."

"It's fine. I have been too busy with everything happening around us, and not with you."

His smile gave me that warm feeling inside. He wrapped his arms tightly around me and gave me a kiss.

"we should get out of here and into the city. I haven't been back ever since we've moved, maybe we could meet up with some of our friends, have some coffee at our usual coffee shop, or something else, anything's fine with me" I said

It's been so long since we hung out with our friends. I love our new place, I really do, but sometimes I feel so isolated. Living in the woods away from everything and everyone it's great but you do start to miss the busy city. Plus I could use a change of scenery, as beautiful as this one is I'm suffocating in it.

It's a long ride but I don't mind. The music softly beating through the car speakers, watching the trees of the forest quickly pass by. The road poorly upheld and very small but it's unlikely we'll encounter other cars no one ever come's here. Most people who have to pass this area take the highway leaving the country roads empty.

I almost forgot how busy the city was. The passing cars, people rushing their way to their jobs or homes. I was quickly reminded when I got out of the car and someone walked into me. "Watch where you're going!" he called angrily as he kept on walking.

We parked the car a couple blocks away from the coffee shop we always used to hang out. I curiously looked trough the store windows. I'm not one of those stereotypical gay people, but I do love shopping.

"look," Vic said pointing at a junk store "let's go in there."

I have no idea why but he has always loved that kind of shop, which is strange considering he never buys anything. He just loves browsing trough the countless worthless objects. I tried to protest but he was already inside.

A musty smell hung in the air. Everywhere I looked were objects standing on shelves, hanging from the ceiling, or simply laying on the ground. Everything was covered in dust as if no one ever came in here or even bothered to clean up.

In the back of the store sat a small man, with gray hair and a gray beard. Deep wrinkles covered his face but gave him this wise like look. He sat behind one of those old fashioned cashiers, doing a newspaper puzzle.
