That night the lady of the orphanage haunted my dreams. I stood in an empty room chained against the stone wall. The room was dark and cold. I felt uneasy and sweaty; I felt my heart beating faster as I realized this was the room where they found the three dead children, where Lady DeStrauss put them as punishments for their misbehavior. I could feel the pain of the cold metal chains pulling against my wrist. I could hear the intense screaming of the punished children, screaming for her to let them out but the words just echoed off the walls. I could feel the glass on the floor sink deep into my bare feet. I was terrified, completely struck by fear. My eyes were fixated on the stairs in front of me, the only way out of this doomed pit, but I knew no one would come. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't break free of the chains. I hear soft footsteps coming from above, someone was here. With my eyes still fixated on the stairs, I hear a click as if a system was put in work. A small streak of light appeared on top of the stairs, and I felt a feeling of relief rushing through me. I was hoping someone was going to get me out of the room taking me away from this nightmare, but nothing happened. It was dead silent, and I could hear my heart beating fast in my chest. No matter how hard I tried not to look at the top of the stairs, I felt like I was forced to watch it. A shadow was cast on top of the stairs, and I knew, I knew who stood there, it was Lady DeStrauss. She slowly walked inside taking every step with care, only to prolong the agony of desperate hope to have a chance to leave this room. First I could only see the dark silhouette of her. She wore a long black dress that touched the floor and waved behind her as she moved down the stairs. Her face became clear as she slowly stepped into the dim light of the candle hanging from the ceiling. She smiled at me with soothing eyes as if she felt terrible about my condition. The sweet scent of her perfume filled the cold air in the room. She was beautiful her skin was soft and didn't look aged at all. Her long dark hair was braided and fell over her left shoulder. Her blue eyes looked at me with such sadness; there was so much hidden pain behind them.

"Have you thought about what you've done?" She asked

Her voice was sweet and kind. It made it impossible to believe this is the same woman of the old police reports. But it was her, I just knew it. I was unable to let out any words they just wouldn't leave my mouth, so I stood there in silent burrying myself against the wall trying to get as much distance between her and me.

"SPEAK CHILD" She cried.

Her sweet and soft voice turned cold and shrill. I felt every muscle in my body get tense. I desperately tried to say something, but nothing came out. I was completely silenced.

"WHAT IS THIS!?"

She held up a small stuffed teddy bear. Her face was filled with rage. Veins started pushing up from under her skin. I heard the crying of a little boy echoing softly through the room. The sounds became louder as it tried to speak but all that I heard were muffled noises.

"SPEAK UP, CHILD"

Lady DeStrauss came closer and grabbed me. Her long slender hands firmly latched around my throat. Breathing became harder as she tightens her grip. I tried gasping for air, but her grip was too tight. Her bloodshed eyes filled with rage looked deep into my soul.

"YOU WILL DIE HERE"

Her voice pierced through my ears. I was utterly terrified of what she was going to do to me. I didn't understand, what is with that teddy bear? Why is she this angry? She held up the teddy bear right in my face. Making sure I saw it as if it was the most awful form of betrayal. Her hand was still tightly holding my throat, her nails sunk deep into the skin of my neck. My head became fuzzy and unclear as my brain was caught off from oxygen. I felt like I was going to pass out, I felt like the world around me was falling apart but right before it did she let go. I fell on my knees on the ground. Shots of pain ran through my knees and hand. In my blurred vision, I saw my hands bleeding from the glass on the floor. I was breathing heavily trying to regain the oxygen in my body. Again I felt her hands around my throat she lifted me up slamming me against the cold stone wall. She had only released me only to prolong the suffocation. I closed my eyes, screaming for help but no one was helping me.
