Chapter 6: Roadtrip?

I opened my eyes as the mild light coming from the sides of the curtain woke me up. I took a look at Mia, who was still deeply asleep with her mouth wide open and her messy hair spread all over the pillow. I grabbed my phone to take a picture of her which she, on the contrary than me, wouldn't be very amused about. I saw on the home screen that I had a text from Marc. It was currently 10:34 and he had sent it 17 minutes ago. I took the photo and then opened the message.
>Hey
   You know what you gon' do today??
Shoot. I had forgotten all about it. 
>Mia's still asleep
   I'll wake her up and ask her
He saw it the second I sent it. It made me show half a smile on my face and kind of warmed me up inside.
>Okay
>How long's the ride?
I asked. I didn't think we would be allowed to go with them alone in their car. Mia hadn't turned eighteen yet so she couldn't drive. I assumed I would have to ask my mom for her car if we even decided to go with them. I looked at Mia, who seemed like she could sleep in and not wake up until one in the afternoon. I gave her ten more minutes to enjoy her beauty sleep. 
I lay back in bed, looking up at the white ceiling and thinking about the next year of my life and how happy I was right in that moment. 

Ten minutes later I flew the curtains up and played 'Bad Idea RIght?' by Olivia Rodrigo. If that song didn't wake her up, I didn't know what would. She groaned.
-Why are you waking me up already?  
-Get up sleeping beauty. It's quarter to eleven. - Isaid ripping the sheetss away from her - Besides, we've got to figure out what we're going to do today.
I sat down beside her and she sat up on the bed opening her eyes widely. 
-Are we going on a road trip? - she smiled.
-Do you want to go?
-Of course I want to go! Are YOU up for it? - she asked with begging eyes and a layer of excitement under that look.
-I mean, I guess it could be fun. But I have to ask my mom for her car first, because there is no way that she is letting me drive with them. 
Mia started clapping and laughing enthusiastically and hugged me. 
-Go ask your ask your mom. Now. 
I went to the kitchen were she was sitting with a coffee and some work papers.
-Good morning mom. - I gave her a kiss and started preparing breakfast. 
-Good morning honey. Do you have anhy plans for today?
-Actually I was wondering if I could lend the car. Mia and I were planning a road trip with some friends we met the other day.
-I'll ask your dad but it's fine with me. How long is the trip?
-Well I don't really know how far it is yet or when exactly we will be back, I wanted to ask you if we could use the car first in case we wouldn't be able to go.
-Well let me know as soon as you know anything. I'll call your dad.
I went out of the kitchen.
>It's about an hour.
Marc had answered my text.
>What time shall we meet?
I went into my bedroom and jumped on top of Mia.
-We're going on a road trip! - I told Mia - Let's have breakfast.
I took my phone to answer Marc.
>We can meet right after lunch
  How does three thirty sound???
>Perfect 
  Meet us at the gas station

Mia and I sat down in the kitchen to eat our toasts.
-Dad said it's okay with him too, but text us from time to time okay?
-Yep, no worries. We leave at half past three.
We finished breakfast and moved on to the bathroom to get ready. I was wearing some basic, light blue jeans with a dark brown, nearly black belt that had a golden star, and a cute white blouse. I had some golden jewlery and sandals on. Mia had a white maxi skirt with a lilac bandeu top on and a pair of sandals.

We prepared some sandwiches, strawberries and chocolate just in case we wanted to have a snack or have dinner there.  Plus, the guys had invited us, so we kind of felt like it was the right thing to take something with us. 

After we had lunch we got into the car and headed to the gas station. I had to fill up the fuel tank. There was a car parked there. I looked at the clock. It was 15:23. 
I got out of the car to fill it up  and I saw two guys come out of the black car parked. They walked over to our car, in which Mia still was in and got out of as she saw them aproach it.
-Hi! - Mia said when she got out. 
-Hey, how are you guys? - Alex aked.
-Good. - Mia answered.
-Yeah, looking forward to the trip. - I added.
-Same here. - Marc said, as if not wanting for an akward silencce to appear.
-Well, I'll go pay and we can start driving. 
-Perfect. - they answered me.
-How long have you been waiting? - I heard Mia ask the guys as I walked away. 
I wasn't a hundred percent sure, but I felt as if Marc was staring at me from behind, altering his look between me and the ones he had in front of him.
