Chapter 15: Stand Off.
*Ron POV*
I was just sitting there with Clem and saw Rebecca cradle her baby.
Ron: How is he?
Rebecca: He's perfect.
Ron: He looks like Alvin.
Rebecca: Do you want to hold him?
Ron: If you don't mind.
Rebecca: Of course you can. You're family.
Rebecca hands me the baby and the little guy starts crying. Luckily I bounced him a bit and he starts giggling.
Ron: There, there, little guy.
Rebecca: You're a natural.
Ron: Well, I used to babysit for some extra cash before all this.
Kenny: Look at you, Ron. Like a big brother.
Carley: You look so natural, honey.
Ron: Thanks.
Clementine: Imagine what it's like when we have a baby.
Ron: Too soon for now.
A few minutes pass by and I hand Rebecca the baby after hearing Luke hit the wall.
Ron: Hey, you want to keep it down, Luke?
Luke: Sorry. It's just... Jane's gone.
Ron: For fuck sake Luke, that's what you're worried about? You put this baby at risk so you and that bitch can roll around like fucking teenagers after prom night.
Things got heated, but the plan hasn't changed. We need to get to Wellington, where the baby will be safe.
Clementine: Baby, I see a town. It might be a good place to stop.
Ron: Yeah. Good call. Okay, everyone. First thing tomorrow morning, we leave. Head for that town across the lake.
Mike: Alright.
Vince: We sure it's not overrun?
Ron: We'll find out when we get there. For now, let's all get some rest.
We were walking for awhile. I was helping Rebecca since she was the weakest after giving birth. We hoped to make it to the town but things were getting bad when we saw a kid in a leg brace approach us.
Ron: Friend of anyone's?
Kenny: I don't know him.
Ron: Everyone, finger off the trigger. Be ready when I fire the first shot.
The teenager, Arvo, and his friends came out of the woods. They threatened to rob us. We tried reasoning we had a baby with us and Arvo seemed to be trying to call his group off but they were speaking Russian so I don't know what he was saying. I saw Rebecca start to turn and had to kill her. I fired my gun, and all fucking hell broke loose.
