Fuyumi's POV
Summer break has just ended and I'm just getting ready to go to work, even though no one is going to be there today.
The reason for that is, I have to prepare everything for the next week, when my work actually starts.
I moved rooms this semester, though I don't really know what I have to do, so I'll have to ask someone. And after that, it's going to take at least an hour, maybe even two.
I put my shoes on and was just about to go out, when I remembered something. I turned around. "Dad! I'm going to work to prepare everything for tomorrow, I'll be back before dinner! And if not, I will text or call you!" I slightly shouted.
"Sounds good! Have fun!" Hizashi shouted back. "I will!" I smiled and shut the door behind me as I began walking. The air was warm, and the wind blew cold. It was pretty refreshing honestly.
"Goodmorning Mrs. Todoroki," One of the teachers greeted me. "Goodmorning Mrs. Hiroto," I said. She smiled.
"Oh, right. About the moving?" I asked. "Oh, right. About that, you just have to move everything from your previous room to your new one. And I also have the new schedule set up on the wall for you, along with one more for you to take home with you." Mrs. Hiroto started.
"One more thing, you know you're getting a new class, right?" She said. "Yeah, I was told before summer break started. I'm going to miss those kids, they were so kind." I said. She nodded in an understanding way.
"Mhm, they really were." She said. "Well, I got the list of names for you right here." Mrs. Hiroto handed me a paper which listed around 20 kids' names and quirks, as well as their age.
"Before I forget, uhm. Since Mrs. Himari isn't able to teach anymore... Uhm.. You're going to be alone teaching the kids until we find someone to take her place, is that fine with you?" Mrs. Hiroto asked.
I was reminded by the tragedy that took place a week before summer break.
Mrs. Himari, or what her full name was, Hina Himari. She was a teacher at this daycare, mt childhood friend.
We had been friends since we were both around the age of 5. And our birthdays are very close as well.
We were like sisters, but then...
She got injured badly by a villain, and since then, she had to stay hospitalised.
Apparently, during the incident, she had also gotten poisoned. Which was a slow-death process. Meaning that she was gonna die soon if they didn't find a cure.
Everytime I visit her, I see the black spot on her arm spreading more and more each time. It's the poison telling us that she's closer to death each time.
I'm just, sad, I guess... She's gonna die at the age of 22, maybe if she's lucky, 23. And me? I'm still going to be here. It's hard thinking like that.
"Mrs. Todoroki? Hello?" Mrs. Hiroto called. I snapped out of my thoughts. "Oh, yeah? Sorry, I just zoned out." I said and covered it up with a smile.
"Okay, well. Like I said, you're going to teach them on your own, is that alright for you?" She asked. I nodded. "Yeah, I can manage that." I said and made my way to my old room.
I began putting all of my books and notes in one of a few boxes. This was gonna take sometime.
Timeskip: Three hours later (haven't seen the timeskips for sometime, have ya?)
"Finally, I'm done." I said and sighed. "Mrs. Hiroto!" I called for Mrs. Hiroto. "Ues, what is it?" She asked.
"Since I'm done moving into my new room, may I go home now? It's already five in the afternoon," I said to Mrs. Hiroto who, for some reason, chuckled.
