forced bloom

Like lotus petals,
forced apart.
A fragile bloom,
opened wide before it's time.

Like a child wearing makeup.
Innocence lost.
Hasty hands that pry and tear,
can not see the beauty there.

Rushing growth, stealing time,
turns tender dreams into fleeting souls.
The world, impatient, blind, leaves love behind.

A rushed bloom, a hurried child.
Both lost in time, both exiled.
Their beauty crushed, can not return,
a sad lesson we must learn.

In a rush to see them thrive,
we forget to give them time.
Left with echoes of what's gone,
a silent cry, a mournful song.
