I don't even remember where I first heard of or found this book, as I first read it more than a decade ago, but it was a thrilling story of a man who is basically like a German version of Desmond Doss and no, it is not a pro-Nazi story (not all WWII German soldiers and families were Nazis). I read this book multiple times, in libraries whenever I found them, and had at least one copy, maybe two of my own, which I gave away or donated once or twice. I'm a member of a book club at my local library and recently asked my town's library to get a copy of this book, too, so that I can read it again and others can read it, too. I even hope my book club will read and discuss it some day.
