To say that Wendy Case had been shocked when Gemma had approached her at the bar in the SAMCRO clubhouse to inform her that her sister's three children were apparently sitting in the shop's office with the son of David Hale would have been a massive understatement.
It was the understatement of the year as far as she was concerned, honestly.
Wendy hadn't seen or spoken to her younger sister Amanda since her nephew Jasper was only around four or so.
In fact, the blonde hadn't even been aware that she had a second niece until Gemma had mentioned it.
As she followed the SAMCRO matriarch out of the clubhouse and across the lot to the shop's office, the blonde couldn't help but wonder exactly why her sister's children had come to T-M, asking after her in the first place.
Had something happened to her sister and brother in law and as a result, their children had decided to try and find her?
Pushing the thought aside for the moment, Wendy entered the office behind Gemma and the second she saw the trio, she knew without a doubt that they definitely had to be her sister's kids.
Both of the two girls had blonde hair same as their mother and Wendy and the older one even looked like an almost carbon copy of Amanda when she was around the same age.
She also noticed that while her nephew wasn't blonde like his sisters, she could definitely see that he had similar features of her sister.
Stepping fully inside the office, Wendy offered the three siblings a small warm smile.
"Hi there, I'm your aunt Wendy."
Lizzie smiled back at her before introducing herself as well as her brother and sister.
"Hi, I'm Elizabeth or just Lizzie. This is my brother Jasper but we mostly just call him JJ and this is my baby sister Paige. I-I know that the three of us showing up here out of nowhere is probably pretty surprising for you and all but I didn't really know who else we could go to."
Seeing the confused look on her aunt's face, the teen quickly explained that she, Paige and JJ had been living in foster care for the last two years.
"Dad suddenly died from alcohol poisoning and since we have no clue where Mom is anymore, they put the three of us into the system back in Albuquerque. I knew that we had an aunt out here in California but since I couldn't remember your name or where exactly you lived out here, I couldn't tell the social worker who was assigned to place us."
Lizzie then went on to explain to her aunt about how while she and Paige had been lucky to be placed together with a really nice woman, her brother hadn't been as fortunate.
Turning to look at JJ who was still sitting silent next to Connor, Wendy could see the hurt and sadness in her nephew's blue eyes that were so similar to his mother's own.
She didn't need to ask to know that JJ was likely abused by whatever foster family that he'd been placed with.
She was pulled from her thoughts by the young boy who had finally decided to speak.
"Lizzie wanted to get me out of that home but her and Paige's foster mom wasn't allowed to take in boys, only girls. She and Connor were actually the ones who worked together to help us get out here so we could try and find you. You're not gonna make us go back, are you? I really don't wanna get separated from my sisters again."
Paige, who had been sitting silently on Lizzie's lap this whole time, could obviously see how worried her big brother was at that particular moment.
The seven-year-old tapped the back of her sister's hand to let her know that she wanted to get off her lap.
Lizzie immediately released her hold on her sister and the younger girl went over to JJ and proceeded to hug him, the boy reciprocating the gesture without hesitation.
Wendy couldn't help but smile a little at seeing her little niece comfort her nephew. She had a sad feeling that the siblings were likely each other's main source of comfort for God knew how long.
"So, while I can't guarantee that it will actually happen or not right now, I am going to do everything I can to make sure that the three of you can stay here with me for good."
Lizzie, speaking for not only herself but also both of her siblings, thanked her aunt profusely before stating that they should also probably notify the CPS in Albuquerque so that they are aware that the siblings were in Charming.
A/N: I know that this is a bit of an abrupt end for this chapter but I couldn't think of another way to close it out.
So, do you guys think that Wendy will be able to get some kind of guardianship over Lizzie, JJ and Paige or do you think that they might have to go back into the system?
Also, what do you guys think about where their mom Amanda might be?
Please feel free to leave a vote and/or comment below and let me know what you think of this chapter and this story as a whole so far.
