Wren was staring at the puddle from her dream when Stoneteller came to disturb her thoughts "River Of Falling Stones needs you, she says she has whitecough" Wren saw Stoneteller rolling his eyes and she nearly let out a mrrrow of laugher "Fine, I'll see her" she said to Stoneteller. River sometimes could be a bit... Dramatic.
When she got there, all her thoughts about the silver cat disappeared. She let out a purr of amusement as the sounds of the cave, the high-pitched mews from the nursery, the low sound of claws scraping the floor from the apprentices den -- she was surprised of how her sense of hearing was better after the Telling -- grew louder. Finally, she entered the elders den and heard River complaining, but there was no time for this, everything she really wanted was talk to Eye, maybe he knew something about a silver cat, maybe he saw her too. As the sharp voice of River grew louder, Wren rolled her eyes and entered the den. River Of Falling Stones was still complaining with Leopard That Stalks Cats and didn't noticed Wren's presence, Eye was struggling to keep Leopard on her paws "It's just a bit of headache!" Leopard snapped at River who let out a low hiss, finally spotting Wren at the entrance "Thanks Tribe Of Endless Hunting! Someone who knows what whitecough is-" Wren kept her face expressionless as River shot Leopard a glance "-Wren, my dear, could you please tell Leopard that this is pure whitecough" said River with a dramatic gleam in her eyes "First I need to be sure this is white cough" Wren snapped back.
Moments later, Wren made clear that River didn't had whitecough and trotted to Eye's side "Hey, Eye" she started, not sure how to ask something about a silver-colored cat "Hello, searching for any stories?" Yes! This was what she needed! And she already had an idea of how to make it work "Yes, yes! What about a challenge?... Uhhh... Oh! You need to say to me a real story of a silver cat!" she tried and hoped for the best "Sounds interesting, hmmm... Let's see..." he said as if he was trying to remember a story about a silver cat, Wren impatiently scraped the floor with her claws "Hmmm... By all the stones! I don't think I can find anything about a silver cat-" he would chuckle and Wren felt as the sky was falling "-But if I find anything I will tell you, don't worry" he added as he saw the look in her face. She would nod and go back to the Cave Of Pointed Stones.
As she got there she saw Coyote and his mentor, Sun That Rises Behind Trees, Coyote had scratches everywhere and Sun had a torn ear and lost some good plumps of fur "What HAPPENED with you?!" she asked astonished "YOUR bettle-brained brother went to that loners' territory and they caught us" he snapped, clearly annoyed. Coyote was looking to his paws with a hurt expression "Well, you're lucky, Stoneteller just brought a bunch of chervil" she said already chewing the roots of the plant and extracting its juice "After all, where's that old mange-eater Healer? We were waiting here for ages!" Sun complained "He is out, gathering herbs" Wren answered him, ignoring the comment about her mentor and started placing the juice in Coyote and Sun's wounds.
Am I ever going outside this prison?
