For a moment, I had the strangest feeling that I was being watched, even though no one else was in the room. The sensation sent a shiver down my spine and I found myself involuntarily pulling the thin hospital blankets tighter around myself for warmth and comfort. I looked over to see my phone gone from the table, I was confused. I slowly got up from the bed and tried to leave this place, however I was met with two Agents.

Marcus and the other Agent looked up as I emerged from behind the curtain, surprise evident on their faces. They hadn't expected me to be awake, much less trying to leave the hospital room. As I approached the two of them, they exchanged a quick look, silently communicating between themselves.

Marcus stepped forward, his expression a mixture of concern and surprise. "Hey, you shouldn't be up," he said, his voice gentle but firm. "You need to rest and let your body heal."

"Someone stole my phone," I responded ignoring his comments.

Marcus and the other Agent exchanged a glance, their expressions growing more serious at my statement. The thought of someone coming into my room and stealing my belongings was disconcerting, to say the least.

Marcus turned back to me, his eyes narrowed in concern. "Are you sure it's missing? Maybe it just fell somewhere," he suggested, a hint of doubt in his voice. He couldn't rule out the possibility that I had misplaced it in my distressed state, but the idea that someone had come into my room and taken my phone was equally troubling.

"Only you lot took it without my permission,".

Marcus and the other Agent looked a bit surprised by my statement but didn't deny taking the phone. They knew that confiscating my possessions was standard procedure in cases like this, to gather any potential evidence that might be on the device.

Marcus stepped forward, his tone firm but respectful. "We had to confiscate your phone as part of the investigation," he explained. "We need to gather all the information we can to try and find out who did this to you."

Seeing my confused and upset expression, he softened his voice a bit. "But you need to rest and recover. We'll give your phone back once we've finished our investigation. Okay?" He gave me a reassuring smile, hoping that I would understand the necessity of their actions.

I was reluctant then I nodded. Marcus nodded back, relieved that I understood their actions. He knew it wasn't an ideal situation, but they had to look at every possible lead and piece of evidence.

The other Agent spoke up, his tone serious. "You should really try to get some rest. You've been through a lot, and your body needs time to heal."

Marcus agreed, giving me a gentle nudge towards the hospital bed. "That's right. You need to get some sleep. You'll feel better in the morning." He made sure that I was settled back into the bed, adjusting my blankets and pillows for comfort.

Outside the hospital room, Marcus and the other Agent were discussing what to do next. They were both exhausted, the long night and lack of sleep taking its toll. However, they knew they couldn't rest just yet. There were still leads to follow, evidence to process, and possible suspects to question.

Meanwhile, in the hospital room, I was carefully deleting texts on the second phone, trying to keep the contents private and secure. Outside the room, Marcus and the other Agent were so focused on their conversation that they didn't notice the movement of the curtains. They were too busy dissecting the evidence and formulating a plan of action.

Inside the room, I continued to delete texts on the second phone, my hands moving swiftly and discreetly. I seemed completely focused on the task at hand, not noticing the faint shadows that flickered outside the window by the curtains.

Outside the window, the shadows lingered in the darkness, silently watching the activity in the room. They continued to move stealthily, careful not to make any noise that might attract attention.

Meanwhile, I hid the second phone, feeling a mix of relief and paranoia. I knew that deleting the texts might be risky, but I didn't want any personal or private information to be discovered and used against me.

Back outside the room, Marcus and the other Agent were still deep in discussion. They hadn't noticed the subtle movement of the curtain or the lingering shadows outside the window. They continued to strategize and exchange theories, blissfully unaware of the secret actions taking place within the hospital room.

Time ticked by slowly, the hours of the night passing at a painfully slow pace. Marcus and the other Agent were now discussing more possible leads and evidence. However, their focus was interrupted by the ringing of the phone in Marcus' pocket.

He pulled out the phone, looking at the caller ID screen with a frown. Seeing the name, he exchanged a glance with the other Agent before answering the call, his expression growing more serious by the moment.

The other Agent watched quietly as Marcus spoke into the phone, his expression stoic but intense. It was clear that this call was important, and could potentially reveal new information or developments in the investigation.

The person on the other end of the line spoke quickly, their words lost to the Agent standing nearby. Marcus listened intently, nodding and uttering the occasional "uh-huh" in response to whatever the person was saying.

After a few more moments of listening, Marcus ended the call and turned back to his fellow Agent. His expression was grave, and the words he spoke were filled with unease. "We've got a new lead," he said, his voice low but firm. The other Agent's eyes widened, recognizing the importance of this new information.

He continued, "Somebody called in an anonymous tip. Said they saw a suspicious figure lurking around the park at the time of the abduction."

The Agent's eyes widened further. An anonymous tip was a rare but valuable opportunity in cases like this. It could be a critical piece of information that leads them to the culprit, or at least point them in the right direction.
