The Assignment: An Oath

( Note- ... Like the other story.. the random head pains are me slowly remembering Ruvik ... I might edit this and do Kidman's pov I'm not sure yet )

 Feeling someone shake me as I slowly open my eyes, letting out pain filled groans, "Come on, get up and lets get out of here." 'Kidman?' Thinking to myself as my vision came back to me, "Fuck." Holding my head, climbing out of the ambulance after her, "You head and I'll follow, it'll be wise. If you follow me, I'll probably get us lost and such. Wait, where are the others? We weren't alone." She shook her head, "I don't know. I woke up alone with you." Watching her eyes scanning her surroundings as her eyes slightly widened, watching her rub her eyes and look in that same direction not seeing anything, "What's going on?" "You didn't see that person standing there in the distance?" "No." She frowned looking down as I looked around our surroundings, "Doesn't mean that person wasn't there, come. Let's get going."
Following her, navigating through the forest we fell into as we entered a cave, as I was slowly approaching the ledge, "Do you hear that?" "Yeah, it sounds like echos. That Leslie boy when he was warning us about the crash." Sitting down, "I'll climb down first." Sliding down, landing, as I look around to make sure it was safe, "Alright come on down." Turning towards her, "I don't see anything." Before spotting that Officer who was driving the ambulance, "Oh my God. Watch out! Behind you!" She turns around and gets attacked by the guy. I watched her struggle, trying to get him off of her. She trips with him on top of her, she manages to get enough space in between the two of them as she slams her heel right into his jaw. It didn't seem to have any effect on him though. They continued their struggle before she was pushed off of the ledge, landing hard, getting knocked out. "Fuck!" Watching him eye me then down at her before he turns, walking off. I approached her, making sure her head was alright before I checked for a pulse, when I found one I sighed out in relief, sitting back against the rock wall, waiting for her to wake up now.
A low groan caught my attention as my eyes traveled up to her. Standing to my feet as I told my hand out for her to take. Her eyes traveled up to me before nodding. Probably Innerly freaking out, a pair of feet before your vision right when you wake up, bound to freak out anyone. She takes my hand as I pull her to her feet, "Shit, we've got to get out of here." Quickly taking her hand, "Wait, hold on." I take her chin and force her to look at me as I examined her, checking her for any wounds and such. When I saw none, I let her go and stepped back, "Thanks for this, but I'm alright really." I only give a nod, "You alright?" "I'm fine, if I made you uncomfortable it wasn't my intention." "You didn't, it was very sweet of you to check me over for wounds." Looking over at her before nodding, "You sure?" Seeing her nod, "Let's get going then shall we." Smiling at her as we turned and walked down, "Yeah, let's get going, but which way." "I'll go this way to see if there is an exit, if there is, I'll shout your name so be listening." Turning, rushing off.
I came across a dead end as my eyes scanned around for anything that we could use. I didn't want to come down here for nothing. My eyes land on a Mobius folder as my brow raised, "Strange, wonder what a Mobius file is doing here." Picking it up and opening the folder, "Someone's criminal record." Shrugging, turning and rushing off back to Kidman.
Slipping up to her, holding out the folder to her, "I found someone's criminal records with the Mobius logo on it." She takes the folder, "Dead End I assume." Seeing me down before looking down and opening the folder, "Yeah these are mine... I wonder what they were doing here?" Closing it up, "Doesn't matter, let's go." Walking down the correct path this time. Bending low and crawling through. I watched Kidman hold her head, I wonder what it was about. Probably from the fall, but I didn't ask. Kicking down some plants and moving through, shimming through a crack in the wall as I could see sunlight, "About damn time, so many narrow pathways in here. It's not making me at ease." Turning to Kidman, "How are you holding up?" "Fine, just head hurts from the fall, little woozy. I keep hearing Sebastian and Oscar. The things they were saying before. It's like memories, but very loud in my head." Trying to understand what she was talking about as I listened to her, "Right. That sounds confusing but umm, I don't see either one of them here, so it's just in your head, try and ignore it." She eyes me for a moment before nodding. Giving a nod right back, but before we can continue walking, she vanishes off. My eyes widened, looking around, "Kidman! Fuck. What the fuck just happened?" Obviously startled, people don't just vanish right in front of you for no apparent reason. I went to go search for her but I got teleported.
No words were coming to mind or escaping me. I was too stunned, too startled to understand what was happening. Taking in my surroundings in front of me as I peered behind me. "Where am I? Walking around a lit room. My eyes are scanning the area, hoping to find something that can answer my questions that are going through my mind right now. A low groan could be heard from the room in front of me. I instantly lowered to the ground, moving up to a wall and crawled over to the door. I didn't know what was going on or what that sound was, but I didn't trust any of it. Slowly peeking into the room, not seeing anything. "Strange." Muttering out to myself before hearing that sound again, but more loud. I turned my attention to the right, spotting something heading in my location. I panicked, slipping into the room in front of me, quietly closing the door, sliding under a desk and scooting to the far back of it, waiting and watching.
Nothing for awhile before the door opens and in steps a person as they close it behind them, locking it. 'They sound so afraid, but from what?' Thinking to myself. He hasn't noticed me yet, good I don't want him to. 'Not just sound, they also look frightened.' I fought the urge to make myself known, not trusting any of this.
The sound of a door opening and closing could be heard in the distance as a voice echoes from the other side of the door. I couldn't make out who the voice belonged to or what they were saying. Another sound could be heard, 'a vent? I hope it's just a vent and not something huge and nasty.' Thinking to myself as the lights suddenly turned off. The guy whimpers out pleas, nothing I could understand though. He's too hysterical. The door gets busted down as his whimpers turned louder. I scooted further back, covering my mouth as I watched this.. thing.. eating.. that man's upper half, muttering out, 'your body.' Nothing I could do for the man, nothing at all.
Keeping where I was, I wasn't sure if that thing was still around and I didn't want to find out. If it is still out there and it sees me, well I'm eaten next. I prefer to have my upper half connected to my lower half thank you. I eyed the mess on the floor, finding it hard to not pry my eyes off of it, but something in the vents caught my attention and my eyes darted to it spotting Kidman. "Oh my God, Jasmine. It's me, Kidman. Stay right there, don't mind, I'm coming. Just hang on." My eyes widened, I didn't want her to come in here and possibly get seen by that thing, but maybe it's gone, I haven't seen nor heard it since umm this guy was umm eaten. The lights are back on now as I see her crawl out of the vent, "Oh shit, what could have done this?" Watching her eye the gore beneath her feet, "Come on out, are you alright?" Sliding from under the desk, standing to my feet. I eyed the gore still, like I said, I find it hard to take my eyes away from it, "Far from it, a little traumatized." She lifts my chin, forcing me to take my eyes off of the gore, "Don't eye it anymore." I stared into her light purple eyes, "What the hell happened? One minute we were in that forest, then the next you just vanished, literally, right before my eyes. Then I was teleported to this building. I heard sounds so I came in here and hid. This... this thing came in here.. and.. and ate that guy." Finding it hard to get those words out, finding it hard to believe what I saw period. "Ate him?" "Yep. It was saying something in a distorted voice something like, 'Your body.' I don't know. Long legs, red shoes, white cloak, and.. the strange part, it had a spotlight for a head." I watched her eyes widened in confusion, trying to process what I told her, "Umm, strange doesn't seem to cut it... but nothing else comes to mind to describe what I heard. Umm, anyways, let's get going. You good to walk?" "Oh I'm fine, no injuries just traumatized from what I witnessed I suppose. Very spooked." Seeing her nod at that, moving towards the door and opening it, "Let's get going."
Walking out of that room and through double doors. "One area is nicely lit, the next area is dark as balls. Got anything that can help us out here?" Seeing her turn on a flashlight, "Yep, find it in the place I woke up at." "Woke up?" "Oh yeah, like you said, we were in that forest then next I was waking up inside a room with a thing jammed in my arm." Showing me the area the thing was jammed in at, "Strange. Anyways, let's get going shall we." Slipping slowly down the halls, shining the light on a corpse, hoping it doesn't move. I slowly moved around it and bent down, picking up a clipboard with a tape. I stood to my feet as my leg was grabbed, "Ah fuck. Get off me!" Kidman quickly slams her foot down onto the head, splattering it. "Thanks for the save. Umm, let's find out what this says." Reading what it says on the paper, my eyes are scanning every word as she reads it over my shoulder, "You know this?" Peering over at her, "I know of STEM, but I don't know about this. Anyways, let's get going."
Moving down the halls, looking down at my feet the entire time, not wanting to come across anymore surprises. Hearing a sound as I lower to the ground, shimming across the wall and peeking around the corner. I spotted a creature before I looked over at Kidman making some faces. The look she was giving me was priceless, probably thinking, what the fuck are you doing?, before the look of realization came to her face. She gives me a nod. I slip my foot out and then point at her then stomped hoping she will understand what I mean. She gives me a nod in understanding as I whistled, gaining the attention of that thing. The sound of footsteps could be heard as its shadow becomes larger. I slipped my foot out, tripping the creature. Once it was on the ground, Kidman stomps on its head, "Alright good you understood me. I'm not good at that sort of thing." She chuckles, "Took me a moment but yeah I got it in the end. Neither of us has a weapon so that's what we will have to do. If there is more than one creature or whatever you want to call these things, then we have to hide and wait it out or come up with a plan of some sorts." "Sounds good. What if that thing comes?" "Avoid it the best we can." Giving a nod as we moved towards the door. "Alright, looks like we have to pry it open." Placing my hands on one side as she does the other, prying it open. We slide through it, "Alright, you see anything you wish to use or whatnot?" Walking to a safe, "I'm curious. I wonder what's in this." Eyeing the blood stains on it, "Hang on. Before we leave the room, I'ma figure this out." I begin messing with it, trying to figure out the combination to it. "Ah there it is, it was 6517." Opening the door completely as a torn piece of a paper was inside it, "Umm, alright?" Tucking it into my pocket. I turned towards Kidman seeing her flashing her light everywhere, "You good?" She glanced over before walking over, "Oh yeah, I was just trying to see if there was a code here for that, but I guess there isn't a need. So what was it?" "A piece from a paper." "That's it?" "Yep, it was laying on some ... gooey stuff." Shrugging, moving towards a garbage thing and pushing it out of the way, opening the door, "Let's get.." Cutting myself off at a low growling sound, instantly lowering to the ground, motioning for her to do the same. As soon as she did, a creature came around a corner. Kidman moved to the side of me, picking up a bottle, she tossed it then took my hand, moving towards the vent. Opening it up and crawling in fast, motioning me to quickly follow, which I did.
Coming to the other side of the vent. She stops suddenly which makes me almost slam into her ass. That would have been awkward. A creature walks by before she slips out, standing to her feet and helping me out and to my feet. Quickly sliding into a room and crouched down, moving to a desk, "Alright, now. How are we going to do this. Any plans?" Questioning her as she takes a look around nodding, "Just one. Stay right here, if you see a creature heading my way, use that phone to call that phone then hide. I'ma take a look around that way. I'll be back." I give a nod as she moves back to the door, "Use it now." Crawling up to the phone as I dialed the number. The phone in the other room rang as I quickly hung it up, watching a creature enter the room to investigate. Kidman rushes out of the room and begins looking around for any clues and such. I eyed the creature intensely, trying to figure out what the hell it is to start with. Ducking once it looked over in my direction.
The door opens as Kidman enters the room, crouching down. "There is a door that needs a key card. I'm taking it, it's around here somewhere, we just have to find it while avoiding these things." "Umm, sounds good. Let's get going." "No, stay here and keep them distracted with the phone, it'll be a lot easier if you do that." "Sounds even better, get going. I make the phone call again as the creature enters once more, looking around. She quickly leaves, moving through and out of my sight, "Be safe Kidman. I'm counting on you."
She slips back into the room, "We have to go now, quickly. That thing came and is eating the creatures, I don't know how long it will be distracted. Let's go, hurry." Moving out of the room and down the halls. I look behind me to make sure we are in the clear still, not seeing anything as I moved around the corner and approached the door. She swipes the key card as it opens, "Now where are we. Man this place is so damn dark. Lucky for you, you have a flashlight." I say as we stepped into the room with the doors closing behind us, "Stay close to me, we'll figure this out together."
Moving down the halls, looking around as the double doors at the end up on their own, "That's never a good sign, careful." Slowly slipping through them, being careful. She shines her light around not seeing anything in sight, "Strange, I wonder why they opened on their own then, unless the person who opened them quickly vanished into thin air like we did." She nudges my side chuckling which causes me to chuckle as well, looking around the room. Kidman walks up to the door and lets the hand scanning thing scan her hand, " Agent status; Terminated. Authorization invalid. "Damn, you try it." I raised my brow wondering why it isn't working for her as I walked over and allowed it to scan my hand. It says the same thing as her, "Alright, what's going on?" "I don't know. Both of us are apparently terminated. Maybe I can force it open with the computer." She walks over to the computer as she begins messing around on it. Analyzing data. A sound could be heard from above us as I crouched down behind something motioning for her to do the same. As soon as we did, that spotlight creature thing appeared. It was searching around, hoovering above the location I am at. I could see the light shining on the wall beside me. 'Oh my God, go away you freak of nature. I would NOT taste good, I promise you that.' Shaking my head mentally. It turns around and walks over to a wall, I peeked around a corner as I watched it shining its light on it as a door appeared. It walks through it as the door vanishes. I looks over at Kidman, "What the fuck is that thing." Standing to my feet, "That thing.. used its light... alright umm, maybe if I focus my flashlight on the spot where it used its light at, a door might appear for us as well?" Looking over at me as she moved towards the wall, "Wait the Mobius logo wasn't there before, but now it is." "Yep, our minds are being fucked right now." "That's one way to put it. Anyways, let's try it." "Worth a shot." Raising her flashlight up to the Logo as she focuses it on it. A door appears, "My mind is turning into jelly right now, fuck this place." Walking through the magical door. "Why are we following after the creature? This doesn't seem like a smart move." Turning a round not seeing Kidman, "Kidman? Oh God not again, where did you go?"
Slipping down the halls slowly before the room changes for me as well. Taking in my surroundings, allowing my eyes to focus on it. Low groans could be heard as I looked around, spotting creatures as I slid into a vent, allowing them to pass. Once they passed, I slipped from the vent and walked down the halls, avoiding everything that I saw. Slipping around a corner, freezing in my spot. The spotlight creature was there, but it wasn't moving or reacting to my presence for some reason. It's light was off and just standing there. I raised a brow, moving along and out of the room quickly and quietly, keeping my eyes on it the entire time. I looked ahead of me to make sure I wasn't walking into a trap of some sorts before glancing behind me not seeing the creature anymore. Innerly panicking as I looked around my surroundings to try and find it. Slowly moving through the area, slipping into a vent. Good timing as well, as soon as I did, the creature slips down the halls, muttering out Leslie's name. 'Is it looking for Leslie? Why? Why does it want Leslie? How does it know Leslie? So many questions are entering my mind, it's annoying.' Watching it leave my sight as I slipped out of the vent and moved down the halls. Peaking into rooms trying to find Kidman. I don't understand what the fuck happened. This place is annoying. One minute we are together, moving through this place, avoiding these creatures, then the next minute she just disappears.
Slipping around a corner, spotting that spotlight creature again, it was devouring a body as I moved quickly to the other side and slid into a vent. I must have made a noise as it turned in my direction. I moved to the far back and hid around the corner inside the vent. Hearing the sound of its heels on the ground and seeing the light of its spotlight near the area before it shines its light into the vent. The light fades and the sound of heels retreating could be heard as I peeked around to make sure before I moved towards the exit. Peeking out not seeing or hearing it anywhere. Slipping out and moving through some doors and peeking around a corner not seeing anything as I began moving again. Looking behind me, feeling eyes on me suddenly as I froze. A sharp pain erupts throughout my head as I stared at a man, standing at the far end of the room. I quickly take a bottle from the table next to me, holding it up for protection. An amused smirk spreads across his lips as I watched him lift his hand, shattering the bottle in my hand, a shard of it slices my hand and gets stuck in it. Ignoring the pain of it as I kept my eyes on him. He vanishes and reappears right in front of me, "Brave woman, you'll be fun to toy with." He chuckles darkly, vanishing off.
Standing there, tensed up the entire time. I looked at the spot where he once was before looking around my surroundings then down at my bleeding hand. I yanked the shard out of my hand and tore my shirt, wrapping it around the wound tightly. It was the best I could do for it right now. "Who the hell was that?" Questioning myself as I moved down the halls. I heard voices as I slipped towards that location, peaking around another corner. "Oh my God, Sebastian and Joseph." Walking towards them as I watched Sebastian turn around facing me. "Jasmine? Where did you come from? Where is Kidman?" "It's a good question. One minute I was walking with Kidman trying to escape this strange creature then next shes vanished and I got teleported to a different location. I know it sounds weird but it's what happened." Sebastian was eyeing me the entire time before nodding, "Yeah, it's what's happening to us as well. Here." Taking my hand and unwrapping the shirt from it. Joseph, you think you can patch up her hand way quick?" Seeing Joseph slip over and taking my hand from Sebastian. He examines it and pulls out some things from his pocket, "Yeah, give me a moment." Pouring some stuff onto it and began stitching it.
Once he was done I looked at my hand giving him a nod for a thank you before he walked off. "How are you two doing?" "Fine. Well for me that is, Joseph seems to be having some problems. Let's focus on finding Kidman." "No need, I found her. We better make it quick, she's trapped inside a tank and it's filling up with water fast." Rushing over to Joseph and peering down at where he was looking at spotting Kidman. "Oh my God." "You don't have a weapon, shit." Turning towards Sebastian, "Here, take this." Handing me a gun, "Be careful." I take the gun and nod at him, "Come on, we don't have time to waste." Rushing off down.
Fighting the creatures, killing them one by one. Shooting the creatures, "Dammit I need more bullets." Glancing around spotting some on a crate as I picked them up, loading up the gun and shooting some more. "Careful, some of them have dynamite." "Great." Mumbling under my breath as I spotted one of them coming at me, shooting at it, accidentally shooting the dynamite as it blows up, taking the creature with it, "I guess that's one way to do it." Looking around the area, "They just keep coming, she's running out of time. Dammit." Shooting another one that has dynamite and was surrounded by multiple creatures. I shot the dynamite in its hand and blew it up, taking all of them with it, "Nice." Turning towards the men as I see Sebastian smirking. He approaches me, "Impressive skills you have, that one was the last one. Joseph, you think you can get it open?" Seb and I walk over to the tank with Joseph, "I don't have a choice, we can't leave her there to die. Follow the pipes, make it quick."
Moving with Seb, loading up the gun and shooting at one and rushing down the gated hallway, "Some guy with a hooded white robe appeared before me and shattered a bottle in my hand with him just raising his hand up. Has he ever appeared before you?" Watching Seb kill the rest as he approaches the thing, "Yes, be careful of him. Try and avoid him if possible." Looking down at Joseph, "I'm here, tell me the codes!" Shouting down to him as Joseph shouts back the codes. He turns, inserting them into the thing as the tank bursts open Kidman falling out of it. "Thank God." Standing beside Seb, eyeing both of them before the ground below them caves in. They both go crashing downwards, "Shit! Joseph! Kidman!" Turning, rushing back the way I came, heading towards their location.
