DELILAH PRESCOTT WAS the soft yellow beams that peaked between the tree branches and brightened the Earth beneath them. She was a juvenile stallion galloping through a sunflower field.
She was destined for the center stage beneath the Texas moon, her pearly white smile and cowgirl hat on display for the crowd. She had their attention, and she was loving every bit of it, but the blurred faces of the audience could never compare to when his gray-green eyes locked on hers.
Bull riders weren't supposed to fall, but that only applied to when they conquered the creature which most men feared. There was nothing in the handbook about falling for a cowgirl.
TYLER OWENS WAS the howling winds that blew in the charcoal gray clouds, consuming the sky and God's land beneath it in a stormy hell. In his heart, he was the beast which he was once known to command.
They were opposite's in that sense, it was fate the moment he tipped his hat in her direction that they would never work out. Perhaps they wouldn't have even kissed if he hadn't chased her, and oh, how he loved the chase.

He did. He chased the adrenaline rush she gave him anytime her lips curled into a grin, the same rush that consumed his senses when the winds picked up. To Tyler Owens, Delilah Prescott was the storm he never wanted to stop chasing.
He didn't realize just how he failed to do so until he came home to her letter wedged between the broken door and frame of his home. One too many late nights and cancelled dates blew her storm to another town, one without the Tornado Wrangler.

✷Author's Note ! quick disclaimer bc i'm not sure if it was clear in the synopsis bc i didnt want my writing to be too blunt or wtv; tyler and delilah met at the rodeo they worked at and dated (duh). after tyler was told to stop bull riding he followed his passion for storm chasing, but doing that lead to him spending less time with delilah, therefore leading to her breaking up with him via note. this is a very fun exes to lovers storyline <3
