But decided to enjoy the weather. Not knowing her mom is stomping toward her. Her mom picked her up and dragged her toward the water well. Her Mom said they don't have water to drink. Aera should go into the water well and break the ice layer since she is little and doesn't weigh much. Her mom will tie her with a rope to pull her up. Aera agreed to help her mom. Her mom tied her with the rope, and slowly, aera got into the water well. before breaking the ice layer, she decided to look up at her mom and saw no one. And the robe falling beside her. How can she forget that her mom blamed her bcz her dad left them. Now, her fox mom is trying to get rid of her to go to her normal life. Aera cried, shouted, begged for help. A kind man decided to help her. She happily followed that man, but that man tried to sell her as a slave to some perverts. So aera ran away from that man and bumped into Teenager ah-eum, who gladly adopted her in her family and treated aera like a little sister. Aera only realised her power 6 years later at the age of 13. Yeon saw her sleeping beside ah-eum, though she was a fur ball bcz she is a whole white fox. Sensing aera's unique powers, yeon brought aera to Granny. Granny adored aera like her own child and assisted yeon to train aera. Yeon trained aera every day until she became strong enough to go head on head with yeon. Despite hundreds of years, age difference, aera can read yeons, combat moves really well. Still, yeon is yeon. He won every fight. Training with yeon aera met Yeon's younger brother rang, too. Rang is a bit dumb in her opinion. Rang is some years older than aera. If Rang is 600 in 2021. Aera is 596. Yes, they have 4 years age gap. 4 inches height gap. They are the perfect couple. But everything was ruined after yeon had to kill ah-eum. Aera can't accept the pain of losing her sister, but she knows that is the only way to kill imoogi. Rang and aera's relationship took a turn when Rang burned the whole village bcz yeon left. Yeon slit rangs abdomen as a punishment. That's when Rang begged aera not to leave him. But aera left him and followed yeon. Yeon suffered for stopping Granny while she was crossing the river with ah-eum's soul. And aera suffered for being included with his all the time. Of course, aera's punishment is less than yeon. Aera was in tiger prison for 5 years, which is nothing for a fox. Aera suffered more from guilty. Guilty of not saving rang. She never meets rang after that. Now, they meet again in 1938. Now aera will not leave him. This time, she will save him. She doesn't care about her past trauma.

Flashback ends

Aera almost reached the water well and was about to jump, but someone beat her on that. The mermaid they meet on the venue. She pulled Rang up. My body frozen as I felt like the most useless person on earth. I can't even save my friend. I'm useless. I heard yeon shouting and stuff, but I can't seem to focus on anything. It's all unless. Then I remembered I needed to check if Rang's okay first.
I walked to the tree, and I thought I'm third wheeling. The mermaid was holding Rang, who was coughing out water
"Rang, can you recognize me ?" She
asked as he nodded, and then his eyes landed on me.

Aera turned around a few seconds later of Rang's gaze falling on her. Not being able to take it anymore, she started walking away when Yeon caught up with her.

'Aera !" He called out matching pace
with her.

"Since everyone is alright, im going
back. I'll catch a terrible cold tonight.'
Aera said, trying her best not to choke on her words. Arctic fox lives in snow. Don't they? It's just an excuse to get out of this situation.

"I'LL come with you." Yeon said then
looked back and signalled Shin ju to
come with Rang after they leave, since the younger was still frozen in his thoughts. The two reached Myoyeongak, and aera didn't utter a word the whole way. She silently went to her room to freshen up. She later stepped out after rough fifteen minutes when all the lights in Myoyeongak were dimmed and she presumed everyone was in their rooms, sleeping She walked around, then paused her steps to gaze at the moonlit sky.

"I will go back to my room first." Aera said before walking toward her room.

"I would be very sad if you stopped being my sister in law after this." Aera can't help but laugh at yeon's word.

"You are such a silly old man."

"Then listen to this old man and don't push rang away. "

"Guess I will try." Aera said even if she knew that her heart won't let her be a third wheel in anyone's relationship. She silently went to her room. Locking the room. Closing her eyes. She can't even cry. She feels guilty. Her heart is aching. She wished she could run away from everything and never come back. She heard knock on the door. She thought it's yeon. She got up from her futon and opened the door and saw Rang standing there. She immediately attempted to close the door, but Rang barged in.

"Get out."

"Listen to me first."

"I said get out."

"Aera,don't be so harsh. "

"I don't wanna talk. Leave me alone."

"Never."

"You piss me off really well."

"Is that a compliment?"

"I'm tired."

"Then I will massage your feet."

"No need. Just leave."

Rang closed to the door behind him and started stepping closer to her. His hands slowly made their way to her waist. He pulled her closer to him. Bend down a bit to match her height. His lips brushed against her ear.

"I know everything. Don't you ever blame yourself for anything."

"What blame myself?"

"You weren't? Then what are you doing? Looking down on yourself again? Gosh, this woman! Do you know how pretty you are? I would be really mad if you would have jumped in that dirt water to save me. And it's bad to dry such long hair too. I'm glad she dirted her hair instead of you. Now I can smell your hair." He nuzzled his face in her hair. Smelling her. Inhaling her scent. He is doing it like he is desperate. It's like he is trying to take as much as he can. Yes, that's how desperate she makes him feel.

"You smell so good. Imma eat you up." Hearing that aera smacked his biceps.

"Go away, pervert!" She said while blushing.

"You smell so sweet. Let me eat you."

"My goshhhh rang! You idiot do you realise what you are saying."

"I don't want to. I just wanna stay like this." He kept nuzzling his face I her hair. He pulled her even closer until her chest was touching his. "You are so sweet. So delicate. I will wait for my whole life if I have to. I won't let you go. You are stuck with me. Do you understand?

"Yes." Aera's reply caught his off guard. He started smiling like a lovesick puppet. And happily when back to his room just to get teased by yeon and shin ju.

"Lord rang looks like he robbed worlds richest man."

"No, no, he looks like he won a puppy on lottery. "

"Right. A puppy that got a treat."
