"Where are we?" I asked as I looked towards Bella.

A red headed girl around my age who wore typical fantasy garb for a swordman.

Mainly because she was one apparently, when we were fused together she had been swinging around a sword that must've been hers.

It was fairly wide with a decent length.

Like a cross between a katana and broadsword.

Not sure how she could swing something like that though.

Maybe magic?

"I'm not sure. I've heard stories of a place like this though, I think the locals called it 'The Forest of Lost Children' since children are the ones most likely to go missing in it." She replied.

Oh, that's explains everything then.

"Did any of the missing persons ever come back?" I asked.

The grim look on her face told me all I needed to know.

"Well, that's just peachy. Since we're stuck here for now anyway, wanna take a breather?" I asked squatting down onto the ground.

"Are you seriously thinking of just resting here in the middle of a death trap?!" She shouted.

"Yep, aren't you?" I asked, casually.

"What the hell is wrong with you?!" She yelled.

"I dunno, I just figured running around would be a waste of energy, I'd rather save it for important moments." I replied.

"That's...not the dumbest idea I've ever heard." I could tell she was trying to find a retort but couldn't.

I guess she technically had no choice but to go along with me for now.

------------------------------------

Meanwhile, with the goddess.

"Hehehe! This is the best! I'm so excited to see what these two'll do next!" The goddess squealed already hooked on the new 'story' she was watching.

"Oh, but wait. I completely forgot to actually revive him fully, huh? It wouldn't be any fun if the main character had no stakes in the story!" She said as she snapped her fingers in a dramatic fashion.

"There, alllllll better! Now I can, like, realllly feel the suspense! I just hope the story isn't short lived! Hehehe!"

-------------------------------------------

Back to the main story.

"What are we going to do standing around right now anyways?" Bella asked.

"Well, I suppose we could sit and down talk a bit, we haven't exactly had the best oppurtunity, right?" I answered.

"You did jam all that [memories] into me." She muttered, weakly.

"Hey, don't leave out important context! Besides, it's not like I wanted yours either. But I couldn't help it." I replied.

I needed to make sure she had a rough idea of what was happening, and the time taken to explain would've been too long, I didn't know if she could get it even after explaining, so it was quicker to just do the memory thing.

Sure, I should've asked about the memory thing, but given the life and death situation, I figured I'd apologize after.

Well, it's all said and done now, so there's not much i can do but apologize about it i guess.

"Now who's not putting in the context?" She giggled.

"Sheesh, anyways, once we get out of here, do you know where to go to sign up being an adventurer?" I asked.

"Oh, right. You were planning on that?" She asked.

"Obviously." I replied.

"Right..." She started laughing awkwardly while avoiding eye contact.

"Don't tell me you have no idea where any towns are nearby?" I asked.

"Well, can you blame me?! We're in the middle of nowhere!" She argued.

"Didn't you follow your party members? How come you don't know the way you came from?!" I asked.

"Did you forget about that THING that's back there?!" She yelled.

"Ok, but shouldn't there be alternate routes?!" She shouted back.

"Maybe, but I don't know!" She replied.

"Why not?! Don't tell me your the type to have a bad sense of direction so you just follow other people around?!" I asked.

She was gonna say something, then shifted her eyes around shadily.

I couldn't help but lose all hope in this person.

"Ahem, anyways, back then, how did you know how to use magic?" She asked.

I didn't say anything, I just pointed my finger towards my head.

"You don't mean my?" She asked before stopping herself.

The answer was pretty obvious to be honest.

"Even if that's true..." She muttered.

I don't get what she's so surprised about though.

Is it really so shocking that I learned how to use magic?

Besides, I already knew how to use my own fusion magic once I obtained it, so adapting that with hers wasn't too hard.

She just simply sighed and stayed silent for a long time.

After a while I couldn't take the depressing atmosphere any longer and proposed a plan to finally get out of our predicament.

"Well? What do you think?" I asked.

"Seriously? You're insane, you know that?" She replied.

"I didn't hear a no?" I said.

"Ugh, fine." She answered.

"Good, then let's do it." I said.

Time to get out of this creepy place...
