Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God.

"Good morning boss" I said fearing what was gonna happen.

"Good? Good morning?! My office now!!" He yelled, stomping over to his office and slamming the door hard.

I looked over at Lucas," Why didn't you tell me?!" I whisper–yelled at him, standing up to meet the boss.

"I did, but you didn't respond, you were caught up in your thoughts. I was about calling you again when the boss stepped in." Lucas answered, his eyes flickering between me and the door.

"Ughhhh whatever" I groaned, walking towards the door and knocking on it. I wasn't even with Jackson yet he still caused me problems.

Hearing a low but harsh 'come in', I stepped inside the office closing the door behind me.

"You called for me, sir?" I asked feeling my tummy twist in nervous knots. I watched him stand up and walk towards me. I stood up straight refusing to let this man intimidate me.

"You've been doing very good these past two months Ms Lopez." He said leaning down, "But if you're going to take my leniency towards you as an excuse to slack off or a justification to be lazy, then you're wrong. Don't think you're indispensable because you're not. I won't hesitate to let you go if you continue with this your new found habit of daydreaming in the office. Am I clear?" He stood up to his full height, towering over me.

"Yes boss. It won't happen again." I say as I looked up at him in determination. He still seemed upset though.

"You're on thin ice. One more mistake and you're out." Am I the only one who thinks he's overreacting? I mean I get it but it was just one time I daydreamed no not even daydream , I was just thinking.

"Yes sir" I see him nod his head towards the door telling me to leave. Just as I was about to  open the door, he called back for me.

"One more thing Kayla, just because I told you to dress corporate doesn't mean you should dress like a waiter" He said snickering as his gaze swept across my outfit.

"You should dress chic and professional but not like a waiter. There's a difference Ms Lopez and you've got to notice that difference and dress properly. You got it?" He asked giving me a smirk, clearly enjoying my embarrassment.

I took a deep breath and kept my anger in check, "Yes Mr Anderson". I said and walked out the door without waiting for his response.

I walked over to my seat and rested my head on the desk, silently cussing at Asshole Kyle.

"What did he say?" Lucas asked as my eye drifted over to Melissa who was filing her nails at the but was obviously eavesdropping.

"Well first things first, he told me that I should stop daydreaming in the office or else he'll fire me." I paused for a moment,"You know what else he said? He said I shouldn't dress like a waiter, I mean how do I dress like a waiter. All this–" I said pointing at my outfit "–is strictly professional , so I still don't know why he told me I dress like a professional ".

"Well, maybe that's the problem" Lucas said shrugging, " Maybe you dress too professional, I don't know. I know nothing about this stuff."

"Maybe I should ask Clara, we could go shopping for 'less professional' clothing tomorrow." I said using air quotes.

"Well I guess you could, but bring her back by 7, I want to take her out for a surprise date." He said smiling sheepishly. Aww cute.

"Aww looks who's so in love. Well sure she'll be back by 7 or 7:30 at most , so don't worry too much." I said grinning wildly at him.

Just as he was about to respond, the intercom rang and I immediately answered it.

"My office. Now." I heard Kyle say as he immediately hung up. A little please would be nice.

I stood up from my chair, taking my clipboard along with me, just Incase he decides to give me work.

I knock on the door and enter hearing him say come in. "You called for me, sir?" I'm beginning to say that more frequently, ugh.

"I'm going to give you a list of companies who you are going to call to set up a meeting. It may not be an immediate meeting, it may be in two months time even. Sort them out yourself in order of priority." He said pointing at a file which I guess contains the list of companies.

I step forward and take the file, "Anything else, sir?". I watch him take a long look at me before opening his mouth to speak.

"No, you can leave" I nodded my head and walked out of the office. Upon reaching my seat I immediately begin sorting them out as he said I should in order of priority.

That was how my day was spent – calling different companies to book a meeting with them.

Thankfully it was the weekend already so I could get some much needed rest. Oh and I also had to go to the mall with Clara, maybe Tiffany could tag along if she didn't have anything doing.

I stayed at the office during lunch break because of how much work I needed to complete before the day ended.

The list had about 20 companies, and the fact that I had to thoroughly check their details and determine which one was more important was frustrating.

I had so many papers on my desk because I kept changing the most important one. When I was done with everything, I walked to his office and knocked.

When I heard his response, I strolled in and presented the paper to him, "Sir, I'm done with what you asked me to do. These are the companies which I've scheduled meetings with."

He looked at me raising a brow, "And what should I do with it?"

"Ummm I guessed maybe you needed it–" He cut me off.

"You're my assistant, and you're in charge of my schedule so what's the use of you giving me?"

" Right. I'm sorry sir." I turned around walking towards the door when he spoke again. What's with this man and stopping me whenever I wanted to leave his office .

" You can leave now Ms Lopez." I turned around to face him, " But I was already leaving?"

"No I mean take the rest of the day off." He repeated rubbing his jaw.

I looked at my watch, the time saying 4:30pm. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. "Thank you sir" I turned around and left seeing him nod.

When I got back to my seat, Lucas was nowhere to be found, so I just packed my bags and left.

I walked to Clara's station to tell her about shopping tomorrow. I found her there with Lucas, lost in their own little world.

I cleared my throat watching them scramble. "Oh it's just you Kayla" Clara said breathing out in relief.

"Yeahhh anyways I just wanted to tell you that I'm going shopping tomorrow and you could come if you want to" I said to her watching her eyes dart around before focusing back on me.

"Sure, Lucas already told me about that. So yes I'd love to go."

"Great. I'll send you my address. 9 o'clock sharp in the morning, okay?"

"Sure, bye." She said waving at me.
