It is a sunny day, the start of the month of September. You were in the kitchen, preparing breakfast for both you and Sunghoon.

"Hey, get out of bed now! Breakfast is already served at the table!" you call out from the kitchen. Then remove your apron and head to the dining table.

Sunghoon, peeking from the doorway of room, sees you preparing breakfast below. He gathers himself together and quickly fixes his appearance, ready to enjoy the morning food.

Spotting him, you say, "Good morning. You seemed so peaceful in your sleep, didn't you?"

He gives a cheeky grin as he takes his seat at the dining table.

"Only until you started calling for me so loudly." he chuckles.

You shoot him a glare, "Should I apologize to you for doing that then, eh?" taking a sit now.

"I didn't say you have to apologize. But a little more courtesy, maybe?" he teases, pretending to be offended.

You shakes your head with a smile and say, "Whatever you say," before both of you start eating.

Sunghoon eats in earnest, clearly enjoying the food. He glances up at you but didn't dare to say any single words and just continue eating.

Eventually, after a some minutes, he gets up from the dining table, ready to leave the house. He walks towards you,

"Well, I've got to head to the camp now," he reminds you.

But before he could do step out, you reached out and grabbed his arm with one hand,

"Let me brush your hair first. It'll look much neater."

He lets out a little laugh, just nodding his head at your daily used gesture at him.

Sunghoon then kneels down in front of you, allowing you to brush his hair. Once you finish, he stands up, the corners of his lips curving upward.

When both of you reach the gate, he steps closer and lightly grabs your chin, lifting it up to face him. He pauses for a moment, looking at your eyes before gently planting a kiss on your forehead.

"I'll be back for dinner." he promises, releasing your chin and stepping out of the house, waving one final time to say goodbye.

"I will wait for you!"

He smiles, his heart warm from your words.

"Mi amour!" he says, blowing a kiss into the air.

The soldier then turns and heads towards the camp site, his stride steady and determined, leaving you with a sense of anticipation for his return.

Sunghoon reaches the camp and immediately immerses himself in his duties. The day passes by, filled with the hustle and bustle of military life as usual.

As the sun is setting over the camp, Sunghoon finishes his assigned tasks and packs up his gear. He bids farewell to his fellow soldiers, promising to see them again the next day.

With his bag in hand, he strides towards the camp gate, a sense of excitement growing within him with every step that takes him closer to you.

You had been looking out the window for Sunghoon's return ever since you went to the marketplace. Every each time, you look up at the sky, praying to them to bring your husband back to you safe and sounds, just as you always do.

As Sunghoon approaches home, he catches sight of you peering through the window. There, you see him and run to him as fast as you can. clearly needing to catch your breath but it is nothing when it's your lover.

He walks a little faster to meet you halfway. too.

"How are you?" you ask, sliding and holding his palm, locking it with yours.

He intertwines his fingers with yours. "Tired, but seeing you makes it all worthwhile," he replies, a smile on his lips.

Together, you head inside the house. He drops his bag near a chair. "Stay on your track," you spat, and begin untying his neck collar and placing it on the table after once you done doing.
