KYLE
"Kyle"
I don't miss the shock in her voice. Her hypnotizing voice that made me doubt my every decision since I heard it. Because it changed everything in my life. The way I felt about her, the way I looked at her, everything. Isla changed everything in my life. She was no longer my young brother's ex girlfriend, she was more than that. And that disturbed me a lot.
I was wondering if I was the only one who felt this way, but that day when she stepped out of my house I knew what I had for her wasn't one sided. I saw that look in her grey eyes when I called her name, she didn't say anything but her eyes and body said it all.
I needed to talk her, I needed her to tell if I'm crazy, and she doesn't have what I think she have for me. I knew I was crazy the day I drove all the way to her parents house when she was not answering my calls. When her mother told me that she flew back to California I didn't think twice to fly back too and figure everything out. I'm crazy I know, to even go to her parents looking for her when they didn't even know me. But I want Isla to confirm that I'm that crazy to even think she had feelings for me.
"Wha-what are you doing here?" she stumbles on her own words. I think she still doesn't believe the fact that I'm standing in front of her door at eight pm.
"Uh, c-can we talk?"
Stop stammering and talk.
"Talk? Ab-about what?"
"Why did you leave Seattle, did I make you nervous?" I blurt out and her beautiful eyes widen in horror.
"What? No!, not at all, wh-why would you make me nervous? She looks away, heat spreading on her face.
"I'm making you nervous now" I state and she swallows.
"Kyle"
Fuck, don't say my name like that.
"I-I don't know what you're talking about" she says, trying to sound serious but she fails, miserably
"Really?" I miss.
I know this is not easy for her, she just broke up with my young brother, and I was once her brother in law. It's confusing, not to her but to me too. What would people think, a brother dating his sister in law? So, I'll try to take it slow untill she's ready to talk. But at least I'm sure that what we have for each other is real.
"I'll go now, have a goodnight" I say, walking into my car and drive off to Victor's apartment.
"Come on, next time you should text that you're coming. What if I was fucking someone in the living room" Victor grumbles as I walk to the kitchen and grab a bottle of water from his stocked fridge.
"Where did you get all this stocks, are you sure you're not stealing groceries from my restaurant" I warily ask him and take a sip of my water.
"You literally live here too, so what's wrong with that?2"
"I don't live here, I just show up once in a year" I roll my eyes, throwing myself on the comfy couch.
"Why aren't you in your apartment?" Victor asks, sitting on the couch beside me.
"Every time you show up here, means something's not alright and you don't want to stay at your apartment" he adds.
"Nothing, it's just this time I came unannounced and I'll like to keep it that way" I sigh.
"What happened"
"Nothing happened, so stop nagging me"
"You came unannounced because something definitely happened, so you better start talking, now"
