Author's POV 🥹 (missed me readers?)
Samaira was nervously sitting in the middle of the couch watching so many ladies chit chatting about her after seeing her face and giving her shagun. Well it was her Muh Dikhai.
Karna had gone to the hospital for some emergency while Ajay and Raghuveer had gone to their office. She was surrounded by so many ladies, some were chatting with Shalini (Dadi).
“You know, Karna's wife can't speak.” Samaira heard one of the ladies dressed in a heavy saree.
“I've heard that she is Ajay Ji's friend's daughter. He must have got them married to expand his business only.” A lady in a simple salwar suit hushed.
Not only Sama but Rudra standing beside her was listening to the shit those ladies were spitting from their filthy mouths.
“Their daughter in law is fine. Karna couldn't find a girl more beautiful than my daughter, but that boy married this girl. I don't know what he saw in her?”Rudra had enough of those ladies talking ill about his dear sister in law. He walked up to those ladies and sternly said, “Aunty ji.. My bhabhi is a hundred times more beautiful than your daughter. Brother and Bhabhi love each other so they got married, not like your daughter who only loves money. And as for the matter, I will tell you what my brother saw in bhabhi. Bhabhi has a clean and very good heart. She never thinks bad about anyone and loves us all. She is our family.” He retorted.
Sama’s eyes were now filled with happy tears. She was feeling so lucky to have a family like this. Dadi was also listening to him with a smile.
“Look, he doesn't even have the manners to talk. Children get spoiled due to the absence of a mother” The first lady who was gossiping said with a pity face.
Dadi freezed, fearing about Rudra getting hyper. Only Karna had the ability to control Rudra’s anger because after their mother left them, Karna was the one who raised him. All these years he took care of Rudra like his own kid, cared for him, fed him from his own hands and helped him in his studies.
Sama was noticing Rudra’s clenched fists, he was trying to control his anger. Keeping the gifts aside she stood up and ambled towards him. Rubbing his arm she tried to calm him down.
He exhaled a sigh and looked at that lady and spoke, his voice heavy, “So what if we don't have a mother, our grandmother has given us more love than a mother and has also given us good values. My brother raised me like his own child. Dad never let us lack anything but it also does not mean that he never scolded us for our mistakes. And it's not me who is rude, it's you”
He then rushed back to his room, Sama and Dadi were worried about him. Soon all the ladies went back to their homes. Dadi and Sama were having evening tea in the huge back garden. All types of flowers were planted there enhancing the beauty of the garden.
“Samaira, child.. don't take those women's words to heart. They are from the neighbourhood so I called. I just wanted that the rituals which could not be done during Ajay's time, I would be able to do during my grandson's time.” Dadi sadly smiled looking at the beautiful red roses.
Her eyes were reflecting so many emotions that she had kept inside her till now. Dadi turned her head and looked at Sama for a second then smiled trying to light up their mood.“Do you like pizza?”
Sama nodded her head and gave her a toothy grin. Dadi chuckled at her expressions.
They both strolled to the kitchen, seeing both the females all the servants bowed to them. Sama frowned, she did not want anyone to bow to her as she is small in age compared to them. Dadi was used to all this. Raghuveer and Karna have ordered all the workers and bodyguards to always bow to women in their house.
Dadi understood that why Samaira was frowning so she told her, “Veer and Karna have told everyone to always keep their heads down in front of the women of this house.” Sama nodded slightly pouting.
Dadi was going to cut veggies but Sama stopped her by taking the knife from her hands indicating she will make the pizza.
After one and half an hour, Samaira had successfully made pizzas for the whole family. Till that time, Singhania men came back home.
“Oh wow...smells like pizza.”
Raghuveer said following the aroma coming from the kitchen.Karna and Ajay looked at each other questioningly but then followed Raghuveer to the dining area. They saw a servant placing delicious pizzas on the dining table. Dadi saw them coming so she told them to get fresh and come down quickly.
On the way to his room Karna bumped into Samaira who was running in the corridor.“Why do I always see you running Sama?” He asked confused.
She nodded her head in ‘no’ and ran to the direction from where she had come. He shaked his head at her antics.
On the other side in Rudra's room…
Rudra was curled up in his bed, his eyes swollen from crying continuously. He never knew what his mother looked like and whenever someone mentions his so called mother he either cries in his room all night curled up or he would be beating the shit out of that person. When he was done weeping and sniffing, someone knocked three times on his room door.He moved to the bathroom, washed his face and came back to open the door. He saw no one was there outside his room but his eyes stopped on the sticky note that read ‘WANNA HAVE SOME PIZZA?’
His eyes lit up seeing the word pizza. Yeah.. He is a big foodie. He looked at himself in the mirror, thankfully he was looking better now.
Meanwhile in the dining room…
Raghuveer- (relishing his pizza) Rudra is not visible anywhere?Shalini- (looking down) He's in his room.
Ajay- He always comes first at meal time. Why didn't he come today?
Just then they heard Rudra's voice.
Rudra- (giving them his goofy smile) It is impossible for me not to come for dinner.Dadi looked at Samaira with surprise, she was unknown to what Samaira would do to bring Rudra to the dining table. And whatever she did, it worked. Rudra took his seat beside Ajay, he placed a whole pizza on his plate and took a bite.
Rudra- (Licking his lips) Pizza is really tasty. Where did you get it from?
Dadi- (Smiling) It was not ordered, Samaira made it.
Karna being a doctor keeps everyone's health in check because looking at pizzas he first denied to have it but when he heard Dadi telling them that Samaira has made it, he without waiting anymore started eating his pizza which was already served on his plate.
Rudra- (Smiling towards Sama) Thank you Bhabhi.
Sama also smiled seeing him happy and eating like a child. He liked it so much.
Rudra is one year older than Samaira but in relation he is younger than her so he addresses her as Bhabhi and ‘aap’.She was happy that he came, she badly wanted to ask someone about their mother but she also knew that it would hurt them so she stayed silent. She wants Karna to trust her enough to tell her about his past.
After dinner..
Samaira changed her clothes in a grey trouser and a camisole, her hairs were open. She went to the mansion’s terrace along with her book. She was confused whether to sit on the big couch placed around a coffee table or on the small cozy bed with a canopy and fluffy cushions placed in a corner of the terrace. It also had a small bookshelf. It was dark as she did not turn on the lights but suddenly the lights draped around the canopy lit up. It was a beautiful sight to see. She was busy admiring it when someone whispered in her ear, “This is only for you Sama”
