Treasure Treehouse, 10:49 A.M.
"There's this old story about a shipwreck." Rafe started.
I was carefully balancing on the branches of the tree, trying to walk on them.
"How does it go?" I asked.
"In the 1800s, this ship set sail somewhere from the coast of England. Apparently, it sank somewhere around here, with over 350 million dollars worth of gold on it." he informed me. "No one has ever found it, but thousands have tried."
"That's an Indiana Jones movie in the making." I laughed. "Have you pitched this idea to a director yet? Maybe Spielberg will take it up."
Museum, 11:15 A.M.
As Rafe and I walked to the museum, the temperature quickly heightened.
"Y'know, maybe we should meet up earlier? Avoid the crazy heat?" I proposed.
"Yeah, 9?"
"9."
We walked into the building. It was dim, it was small, and it was quiet. No one was there.
"Is this the right place?" I asked.
"Yeah, it's just a Tuesday," he clarified.
We came across a glass display, in which a miniature ship had been set up.
"That's a model of the Royal Merchant," he explained.
"It's beautiful."
Older ships were carefully constructed, and they held themselves with much more character than these newer ones did. We continued walking around the museum, looking at the artifacts that were on display.
"I remember a few of these." I smiled, looking at an old globe. "From when I used to live here."
"You did?"
"Yeah, but I moved to New York with my mom as soon as I turned 5. I don't remember a lot, but I remember this globe. I thought it was the coolest thing ever."
We continued walking around the museum, looking to find a secret passage or something that would possibly lead us to the treasure of the Royal Merchant.
"Do you think anyone will ever find the gold?" I inquired.
"Maybe," he shrugged. "If they're lucky."
"I think so too." I agreed. "Maybe in a hundred years if they all have Tony Stark tech."
"You like the Avengers?" he asked.
"Of course." I smiled. "I've been a fan since the first Iron Man came out."
"Me too." he beamed. "Who's your favorite avenger?"
"Iron Man. A hundred percent, he's the best." I answered. "Who's yours?"
"Captain America." he shared. "He's the best."
"What? Why do you think Cap's the best?"
"Because he's a team player. He cares about the cause and the people he works with. And he's brave. He's a real hero."
"Iron Man was ready to die at the end of the last movie." I reminded.
"Yeah." he said. "But Captain America is ready to die in every movie."
"That's 'cuz he's old." I joked. "But in all honesty, they're both great."
Rafe nodded his head in agreement.
"I feel like my second favorite is the Hulk, and then Iron Man."
"I'd say Black Widow and then Cap."
