After the second day of the show in Newcastle, I headed to Cheryl's dressing room. The concert had been a hit, and the excitement still buzzed in the air. Cheryl and I had a great afternoon, and it felt like we'd finally sorted things out between us. She didn't look at me with disdain anymore, instead, her gaze was full of tenderness. But there was still one thing I needed to clear up. She had the wrong idea about me and Dave, and I needed to set the record straight.
I hesitated outside her door, trying to gather my thoughts and muster the courage to knock. Finally, I raised my hand and tapped softly on the door. Within moments, it swung open, and there was Cheryl, her eyes lighting up with a shy smile when she saw me.
"Hi," she greeted, her voice a gentle lilt.
"Hi." Seeing Cheryl in front of me, I totally forgot what I was going to say. Her presence was so captivating that I just stood there like an idiot, admiring her beauty. Her hair framed her face perfectly, and her eyes sparkled with a warmth that made my heart skip a beat.
"Do you wanna come in?" Cheryl asked, breaking the silence when she saw I wasn't going to say anything.
"Yes." I accepted awkwardly, stepping inside and feeling a bit self-conscious.
Cheryl let me in and gestured towards a small couch in the corner of the room. "I was just finishing putting me stuff away."
"Need any help?" I asked, hoping to keep the conversation going.
"No, thanks. You've already done enough for today," she replied with a soft laugh, her eyes meeting mine with a mixture of gratitude and something deeper.
As she continued tidying up, I felt the weight of what I needed to say. "Do you need to head back soon? I was hoping we could go for a walk or something. There are some things I need to clear up with you," I said, feeling a bit embarrassed and worried she might say no.
Cheryl paused and turned to face me, her expression serious yet kind. "You don't need to explain anything. I'm okay with what happened between you and that music producer. It's not me place to tell you who you should be sleeping with. I'm sorry for making such a big deal about it," she said softly, her voice tinged with regret.
"No, Cheryl, please," I insisted, my voice firmer now. "I really need to clear this up. It's important to me that you understand what happened. Can we please go for a walk? Just to talk things through?"
Cheryl hesitated for a moment, then nodded slowly. "Alright, if that's what you want, we can go for a walk."
We left the dressing room together, stepping out into the cool night air. As we walked, I noticed Cheryl's face flushed from the cold, her cheeks a delicate pink. The subtle scent of her perfume mixed with the crisp night air, making my heart race. She had her hands tucked into the pockets of her cardigan, and I had to stop myself from reaching out to take her hand.
For a while, we walked in silence, both of us unsure how to start the conversation. The quiet streets of Newcastle provided a serene backdrop, the only sounds being the distant hum of traffic and our footsteps echoing softly against the pavement. I stole glances at Cheryl, admiring how the streetlights cast a soft glow on her beautiful face.
"Your mum mentioned you hung out with your siblings," I said, trying to break the ice. "How was it?"
"It was great," Cheryl replied, her voice warming at the memory. "It's kinda hard to get all five of us together, so when it happens, it's always sweet."
"I get that," I said, smiling. "I love it when my sisters and I are all together."
Cheryl nodded, her smile lingering as she glanced at me. "Yeah, me too. They keep us grounded."
