My Darling

You sit in your chair, humming softly as you fiddle with some wool, trying to find the perfect colour to knit a blanket for your baby niece that your brother and his fiancé welcomed just last week. Smiling as you feel a presence behind you, the sweet smell of your favourite perfume wafting through the air.

"What is it my darling? You've been standing there for a while now." You feel a hand on your shoulder and watch as a cup is held before you.

"I brought you some tea, you've been in here all day so I ordered some food too, I know you'll be hungry by now."

"Thank you darling, sorry I've been so caught up with work and now I'm trying to make a blanket." You take the cup from her hand, humming softly as the warm liquid meets your tongue.

"Want to help pick the colours? You're close to Emily right?" Your girlfriend nods as she sits on your lap, taking the cup from your hand and placing it on the table next to you.

"Based on the paint she picked out for the nursery I'd go with..." She leans down, your hands holding her waist to keep her balanced as she pulls three different coloured balls of yarn out of a bag. "Red, blue and yellow. I know you'll make it look pretty." You grab the yarn from her hands, dropping them next to your cup on the table and grab her waist again, pulling her closer.

"Honey?" The pink-haired girl whispers as she swings her body around, her knees sitting on either side of your waist.

"You remember when we first met?"

"Of course my darling, I'll never forget that."

"This fucking weather... Fed up." You mumble angrily, hiding in a smoking shelter from the harsh wind.

"Need a hand there?" A man asks as he stumbles in front of you. You nod and after he lights your cigarette for you, you simply thank him and watch as he walks away. A noticeable limp has you wondering if he's okay enough to walk. Just as you're about to stop him your eyes drift over to a short girl as she speed walks past him.

*Wow she's gorgeous.* You think to yourself, your eyes widening when she looks over to you. She smiles before looking away.

"Hey again, miss me?" The pink-haired girl stops in her tracks as a taller girl steps in front of her, you lean back against the wall watching them through the window of the shelter.

"Not really, can I go? I'm gonna be late for work."

Work? It's 10pm what does she do?

"Oh come on dude, I just wanna talk to you. I haven't seen you for a while." The taller girl laughs as she takes a step closer to her.

"There's a reason for that. Now please." The pink-haired girl steps to the side but is stopped. "Seriously? Are you dumb or something?" She scoffs, rolling her eyes and she looks over to you. You stand up straight inhaling one last drag from your cigarette, discarding of it properly and point to yourself. She doesn't nod but you can tell from the look in her eyes that she needs you.

"Ah there you are darling, I've been looking everywhere for you. We're going to be late for work." You walk over to her, hand extended out.

"Honey hey, sorry about that." She reaches out, interlocking your fingers and placing a small peck on your cheek, making your heart skip a beat.

"Now who is this?" The tall girl questions, basically hissing at the smaller girl.

"My girlfriend. You know. The reason you haven't seen me for a few months, I've been avoiding you for multiple reasons. And this beauty right here-" She reaches up with her free hand, squeezing your cheeks. "Is the main reason for that. Sorry girl didn't want to break your heart but yeah I'm taken and I'm late for work so if you'll excuse me." She barges past, dragging you behind, your eyes now glued to your fingers interlocked with her own.

You jog behind her in silence for a few minutes, your eyes switching between your hands and the back of her head.

"Um excuse me... Miss?"

"Gahyun, Lee Gahyun."

"I don't think she can see us anymore Gahyun..." Gahyun stops, a soft laugh escaping her lips as she bends down to catch her breath.

"Right well thank you for saving me, seriously means a lot."

"She been pestering you a lot?"

"Yeah, I went on one date with her last year and then she became obsessive, wouldn't stop following me, calling me, showing up at my old job. I had to quit and secretly find a new one, I'm shocked she hasn't found it yet." She scoffs, running a hand through her hair.

"Damn well, I'm glad I could save you." You look down and notice you're still holding hands, you've never had much confidence when it came to girls - you've dated plenty but they never lasted long - especially ones as gorgeous as Lee Gahyun, but something about the way she's smiling at you, her tongue running across her bottom lip, your hands still locked in a tight grip was enough to give you such a sudden burst of confidence that you spoke before you could even think.

"You know Gahyun if you let me take you on a date I can show you a good time, surely a lot better than her."

"Oh yeah? What makes you think I'd let a girl as pretty as you take me out?" She takes a step forward

"Well I found your first reason; you think I'm pretty."

"Give me a second reason." She steps forward again, biting her bottom lip as your bodies are just barely touching.

"You haven't let go of my hand yet, meaning you're liking it." You smirk as you watch her cheeks turn a bright red.

"Plus, I'm a great kisser, as I've been to-." Your sentence is cut short as the shorter girl crashes her lips into yours, and you melt against her touch instantly. Your lips moving in perfect sync against her plump ones.

"Hm, you good at anything else?"

"Let me take you out and I may let you find out."

"What if I just take you back to mine?" Your eyes widen as you look down at the shorter girl, a smirk toying with your lips.

"If I had known that on that night I'd be saved by my future soulmate I'd have dressed better." Gahyun giggles as she tucks your hair behind your ear, hugging you from behind.

"You looked beautiful that night, I couldn't take my eyes off of you at all." You dry your hands, throwing the kitchen towel next to the sink.

"What about now honey?"

"You still look just as beautiful my darling," You turn around, throwing your arms over her shoulders. "Thank you for dinner baby. I think you've earned a treat." You lean down, pressing a soft kiss to her pink lips.

"So my darling, let me treat you the best way I know how." You scoop her into your arms, an excited squeal coming from the younger girl as she begins leaving kisses all over your face as you carry her upstairs.

You place her down gently on your bed, walking over to shut the blinds. "I love you, honey." Gahyun whispers, your jaw drops as you turn around, her pink floral dress had been thrown to the floor leaving her in lingerie that perfectly shows off every one of her beautiful curves in such a way that makes her seem like a painting.

You never cared for pink - you couldn't stand the colour at all - until you met Gahyun. Now anytime you see it you're instantly reminded of the woman that you swear you will marry one day.

"I love you too my darling." You crawl onto your bed, Gahyun quickly pulling you on top of her. "I'll love you forever." You mumble as your teeth sink into her neck, a low moan escaping through her lips.

You knew you'd love her forever, it was painfully obvious that you would. You loved her from the moment you saw her all those years ago and you've loved her more and more with each passing second. You just loved everything about her, but one thing was missing. A ring. Something that showed everyone that she was yours and that you were hers - forever.
