That was the last time I touched this book, the last draft I had in the works. Looking back at it, I feel terrible, terrible for leaving abruptly without any notice and leaving behind this world I created.
My absence can only be blamed on my own shortcomings. I could blame the overwhelming workload I had due to college applications, or blame personal relationship problems, or a lack of motivation or inspiration. But at the end of the day, none of those things were stopping me from opening my laptop and clicking that enticing orange button.
Continue Writing.
I did the one thing an author should never do, and that was stop writing. My laziness has caused this yearlong disappearance, and for anyone who had been waiting or wondering, I truly am sorry. I know the feeling of losing a story you were enjoying reading because the author went MIA.
My intention with this novel was for me to gain exposure and experience in the art of fictional writing, what problems I may encounter and what type of scheduling I would have to deal with. Above all, I wanted to improve my creed and hone my art of writing, in order to ultimately become a better writer.
It is for this reason that I have decided to rewrite this novel. Although I still love the world that I have built and appreciate everything that I have so far, the storyline has far too many plotholes and is too clunky for me to continue writing in good conscience, especially after such a long disappearance. With this rewrite, I hope to be able to recreate this story and make it flow more cohesively than before.
To anyone who took their time to read through this, thank you for being here. Your presence makes me feel that much more appreciated, and I am truly grateful that you're taking time out of your day to read what I'm writing. As long as I know there are people out there to read my work, I will continue writing.
That is a promise.
I'm excited to see where this rewrite leads me. I am open to any critiques or pieces of advice. Any advice is good advice, right?
