Background: Wade is Sargent and is driving back to the station late at night until he looks on the side of the road and sees a little girl who's all alone.

Wade's POV
I'm driving back to the station to finally clock out, it's been such a long day. I've been called into to 3 new cases to supervise, oh and I'm the new Sargent of the LA police department! My wife Luna is so excited about it, not because of the pay rise, well yeah that but also that I rarely have to get out of the office. She has been so worried about me going out on patrol ever since I got shot and one of my buddies got shot as well. Then he passed away because of it. My wife has never been the same since then.
I pull onto Sunny Drive and I see this little girl on to the side walk. She was alone and look scared. I pull over and walk towards her.

SG - hey, little girl what are you doing her alone?
She doesn't answer. She looks like she would be around 4 years old. I pick her up and put her on my hip.
SG - what's your name?
? - Lucy
SG - what a cute name! I'm a police officer! So I'm going to take you to the station, okay?
She nods slowly, I can tell that she is tired, she smells like alcohol. I assume that her parents are big drinkers. I place her down in the shop, she is so skinny, malnourishment probably. I buckle her in to the back of the shop, placing a blanket around her, making sure she's not too cold. The drive to the station was quick 3 minutes tops. I pull into the car park, I look back at Lucy, she was out of it, she was fast asleep. She was so peaceful, curled up in a small ball with the blanket covering her. I pick her up and in my arms and carried her into the station.

SG - in coming kid coming through
A - whose kid is that?
SG - I don't know I'm calling CPS though
A - oh okay
CPS Comes*
CPS - Hi you called about a missing child?
SG - yes this girl right here, I found her on the street.
CPS - ahh yes I've been to her house a couple times, parents are alcoholics. CPS has been called lots of times. Her names is Lucy Chen and she's 4 years old.
SG - do we take her back?
CPS - no, she'll most likely go into the system, unless you want to be her foster home?
LL - hey babe whose kid is that?
SG - some alcoholics.
LL - she's so cute!
SG - do you want to foster her?
LL - wait really?
SG - yes! But she won't be with us forever.
CPS - you can adopt her if you want? But that is a lengthy process.
SG - we'll see how it is taking care of her then get back to you on that one.
CPS - okay call me!

Luna and I take Lucy back to our house and get her settled into a bed, we tuck her in and turn off the light for her.

LL - ohh she's so tired
SG - Yeah, her old home was probably really tiring, parents drinking all the time, no food in the kitchen.
LL - awh can we adopt her?
SG - we will see how it works out, if it does then we will adopt her.
LL - okay.

3AM

Lucy wakes up and is scared so she starts wondering around their house, not knowing where she is she start to cry a little. She wonders into the master bedroom where Wade and Luna are she somehow climbs into their bed and lays in between them.

5AM

Wade wakes up and sees Lucy their bed, he smiles and asks her if she wants to come to the station with him, she nods and smiles. Wade get ready and tells luna that he's taking Lucy for the day. They get in the car and start driving to mid Wilshire police station.

Wade POV

I take Lucy into the station and I see Angela and Tim walking in, I give them a wave and they wave back to me. I walk into my office and sit Lucy down on the chair.
SG - don't go anywhere, okay?
She nods in agreement. I walk into the locker room and put on my uniform, I walk back into my office and I don't see Lucy anywhere. I look around my office, not there. I take a peek out side my office and I see Tim bending down and talking to her.

Tim POV

I'm walking in to the station with Angela and I see Grey waving at us, we wave back and walk into the station. I quickly get ready in the locker rooms and make my way out to go get our shop ready for the day. But when I walk out of the locker room I see a little girl walking around the station.
T - hey where's you parents?
L - I don't know.
T - umm, come here.
I life her up and she puts her tiny little legs around me and her arms around my neck. I walk up to Grey.
T - Grey I found this kid wondering around the station.
SG - ah there you are Lucy.
T - ?
SG - looks like she likes you Bradford
T - what is going on?
SG - I found her on the streets last night and took her in, Luna and I are fostering her.
T - cute.
I put her down and leave Greys office, until I feel something griping on my leg. I look behind me and I see Lucy on my leg. I look back at Grey.
SG - LOOKS LIKE YOUR TAKING CARE OF HER TODAY!
He yells. I sigh and pick her up. I bring her to roll call and sit her down on the table.
T - looks like you not going to leave me alone today. So I might as well introduce my self to you mm? My name is Tim Bradford, but you can just call me Tim. I'm a rookie here and I'm 28 years old. Your turn.
L - ummmm
T - ok nice to know.
Angela walks in with a smirk on her face.
A - awhh that's the kid from last night, so whose kid is that?
T - Greys.
A - then why do you have her?
T - she won't leave me alone so know I'm in charge of her.
A - dang, she's so cute!
T - sure
I put Lucy on my lap, Grey walks in.
SG - okay guys today Lopez will be with Smitty, Bishop with Alera and Bradford will be working front desk today with his new companion.
T - sir do I really have to take her of today? Why can't you?
SG - Sargents orders. Alright that's it! Be safe today.
I look down at Lucy who's in my lap.
T - looks like I'm taking care of you today.
L - yay!
A - you guys have a really good bond, you just can't see it.
T - mhm
B - cute kid Bradford.
T - shut up Bishop

I walk out of roll call with Lucy on my hip, I walk towards the break room to get a coffee. I try putting her down but she won't leave my side, I look down at her face and she's fast asleep! At least she's not crying or whatever kids do these days. I make my coffee and walk to the front desk and place her on my lap while I work. The end of the day comes around and I take Lucy back to Grey.
SG - was she good?
T - sure I guess
SG - she seems so comfortable around you
T - yeah sure if you see it as that
SG - ?
T - she's just clingy
SG - night Bradford
T - night.
