"Kareena, what are you wearing!!" Geeta aunty shrieked sitting at the breakfast table.

Why is she here at two in the afternoon?

"Oh Lord! This is what you're wearing for a date?" She dramatically approached the stairs.

A date?

"A date?" I asked
"Aren't you going out with Gaurav?" She asked "Meeta, come here! Look what your daughter is wearing" she called for my mother.

I didn’t really clear their questions with who I am going out with this afternoon, last evening.

"Kya hain(what is it), Geeta?" My mom came out of the kitchen, fixing her dress and gasping.

"What are you wearing, Kareena beta?" She got hold of my shoulders, her forehead knitted together. "You're supposed to wear something feminine to a date, now that you've finally started thinking about it"

"What are you two even on about? I'm not going for a date. It's just a meetup. Leave me alone for a while please!" I said, irritated.

They wanted me to date and I'm doing it, keeping aside my respect, even if it's just pretending!

"We're not hearing excuses. Sava, lend her, one of your dresses." My little sister, seated at the table, giggled at me and went to fetch a dress.

"I'm getting late. Please let me go!" I said, pushing past them.

Maa got hold of my hands and looked at me in a way which warned me that she'd have me disowned if I refuse to listen, right now.

I was defeated.

Sava handed me an excessively revealing summer dress which barely reached my upper thighs and had laces all the way down my back. Its color was a mixture of green, yellow and red and appeared really sweet on the mirror.

But, not right now.

I can't possibly wear something like this. I've never worn cute outfits, anywhere. I was always in sweatpants and a t-shirt or had formals on, when needed.

My skin shone against the colors and the dress fitted perfectly, but I can't possibly wear this, not for the first time, when I'm going to meet him.

He'd definitely take this as a sign or something.

God.

"Why do you even have a dress like this, Sava?" I asked, checking myself out in the mirror.

"For occasions like this?" She passed me a mean look and continued setting my hair.

I rolled my eyes. "Very funny"

"I know." She said and put in the last loop over my side plaits.

I looked pretty, different and excessively feminine. I won't say I dislike it, but would it be okay to wear this when out with him?
"Oh My God! So beautiful!" Maa said and made me do a spin, as she hopped inside the room.

"I'd buy you some outfits similar to this. You look so pretty, Kareena!" She said and kissed my forehead.

Okay, confidence restored.

I wore a pair of heeled sneakers which matched with the dress and carried a designer bag which I borrowed from Sava and then I went out.

Soon after I settled inside the cab, my nerves froze. I was facing Rishav, after seven years, not professionally, but personally.

It's been seven years and I've promised myself that I've moved on, but I guess, I haven't. My nerves are dead cold and I'm having cold sweats. The hairs that slipped out of the braid had stuck to my clammed neck, even if the air conditioning was on point.
