On Monday Louis and his mates were sitting at the dinner table chatting away while munching on pizza they ordered, or rather Niall ordered, as always. He wasn't worried about money, his parents were loaded and sent him enough money every month that it would cover expenses of all three of them. Zayn and Louis were both thinking about finding a part-time job though; they were tired of living of the few pounds parents sent them to live out of.

Louis noticed a hiring sign on the door of a small bakery about two blocks away from their flat yesterday and he was seriously considering it. He knew he wouldn't be any help in the kitchen, but he could offer to work behind the cash register. After finishing his second piece of the pizza he wished the boys good night and went to his room, he pulled out his laptop and started working on his CV so he could print it out next day in the campus library and visit the bakery to apply for the position.

Just as he was finishing on his resume, his phone started vibrating, he picked it up and saw his mom's picture looking back at him. She called at least once a week to check up on him, he loved her so much, they were really close even though he lived miles away from home now and visited very rarely. A genuine smile appeared on his face as he answered her call. They were talking for about ten minutes, his mom asking about university, he was asking about his siblings. Louis hasn't seen any of them is so long, it was already late March and the last time he was home was for Christmas. He missed them all so much and promised mom to visit soon.

As he was listening to his mom ramble about the drama at work his phone vibrated with a new notification, so as soon his mom was done talking about an annoying colleague, she wasn't too fond of, he told her he has to hang up because it's getting late, and he has to wake up early. They both said their goodbyes and hung up. Louis was quick to open Instagram, he was expecting a goodnight message from Harry and wanted to wish him good night as well before he fell asleep. They haven't texted much today, but Louis figured that Harry had a busy day at work, so he didn't bother him with texting throughout the day.

H: Hey Lou, I'm sorry I haven't texted much, it was really busy at the café, and I had hardly any time to breathe, I didn't even have time for lunch! Can you believe that?! Anyways, I finished there about an hour ago and stopped at the grocery store before I went home, also, why is it so cold today?? It's almost April and I almost froze! Hope you had much better day than me, how're you doing? Xx

L: No worries, figured you were busy :) My day was just fine, school was chill, me and the boys had pizza for dinner, and I just got off call with my mom, had to promise her to visit soon :D

L: Make sure you dress warm next time! We don't want you getting sick before Wednesday ;)

Harry promised to wear his jacket tomorrow and they chatted a bit more before wishing good night to each other and going to sleep.

Next day Louis was getting increasingly more nervous about meeting Harry tomorrow, he couldn't concentrate at school at all. Every time he tried to focus on the subject, his mind wandered away after a few minutes, and he was back to stressing. Niall and Zayn were trying to calm him down, but it never fully worked. As they were on a bus, getting home from school, he received a text from Harry saying that his throat is hurting and he's taking the rest of the day off so he could relax, hoping his cold would go away by tomorrow. This had Louis worried even more, he quickly texting him wishing him to be okay soon.

Yes, he was very nervous about meeting him, but the possibility of Harry cancelling was even worse. His mind immediately started playing games on him, he was scared Harry actually didn't even want to meet him and this was his elaborate way of preparing him for the cancelation of their plans. What if Harry realized how ugly Louis was? What if he decided he doesn't actually like him? Louis started spiraling, but tried not to let it show, at least while they were still on the bus.

Both Niall and Zayn noticed something is wrong but waited till they got home to ask about it. Louis told them that Harry is ill, and he might have to cancel their plans for tomorrow. The boys didn't know what to say, not wanting to make promises of everything being okay, so they just embraced Louis in group hug and let him shed a few tears.

It was a bit past 4pm when Louis remembered wanting to go to that small bakery to apply for a part-time job. He checked the opening hours on Google and noticed that the bakery closes not even in an hour from now. He fetched his resume from his school bag, quickly put on his trainers and jacket, bid his goodbyes to the boys, who wished him good luck and he was on his way to the bakery. He was pretty stressed today and managed to smoke three cigs on the way there in an attempt to calm his nerves.

He made it to the 'Nana's bakery,' as he read on the sign outside, by 4.28pm, which meant they'll be closing in half an hour, he hoped he won't be too much of a bother coming so close to the closing time. Ringing bell above his head signalized him entering the store. He saw small older lady behind the cash register already smiling at him and greeting him in the bakery. Louis politely smiled back at her and greeted her as well; she started putting her plastic gloves on and asking which pastry he'd like to try. She had such a sweet voice, Louis mentally noted. He informed her that he noticed the hiring sign on the door and would like to apply for a part-time job. Her smile grew even bigger, she took of the gloves she just put on, walked around the display of pastry next to the cash register, and reached her hand to Louis to shake. She introduced herself as miss Olive but informed him that everyone just call her 'Nana,' and prompted Louis to introduce himself as well.

He handed her his short resume and waited for her to read through it. She excused herself and ran to the backroom really quick to get her glasses with comment of her sight not being as good as it once was. Louis once again politely smiled and assured her that it was fine as he stood across her waiting for her to finish going through his CV.

She was smiling the whole time reading it, so Louis figured his resume must not have beet that bad, which gave him high hopes of getting the job. Her smile never fell as she looked back at Louis and asked him if he had any experience baking. He nervously chuckled and said that he's a disaster in the kitchen and was hoping he could work behind the register. 'Nana' informed him that that's quite alright in her books and that he could come tomorrow afternoon to try it out.

Louis got nervous, saying he's not sure he'll be available tomorrow afternoon, scared that he blew the job, but Olive was too sweet to just tell him off, she told him that he was welcome any time then, her genuine smile never faltering. Louis was so happy that his hopefully new employer was so nice, most of his anxiety disappeared after just a few more minutes of chatting with her. He left the bakery with a smile on his face and a promise of coming around tomorrow if he ends up being free to come.

Harry didn't text him until around nine that evening, wishing him a good night and sweet dreams.
