Chapter 9: Downfall Within

The Predacons noticed immediately and got in their battle stances as they transformed into their beast modes. Nova followed suit.

"Axl, get the humans and Wheelie to safety." Drift ordered as he brought out his samurai swords.

Axl nodded as he transformed into a black and silver jeep. Cade, Maggie, Lennox, Sam, and Wheelie entered the jeep, Axl then floored it, speeding away from them.

Then, without warning, Optimus Prime pulled out his sword and swung it towards Predaking, the tip of his blade just barely scraping Predaking's face as a small drizzle of Energon dripped from the cut.

The Predacon warrior growled to himself, leaping towards the Terrorcon Prime who then moved swiftly to the side.

Predaking landed hard on all fours as he turned to face the Prime, a growl leaving his vocalizers.

As the Prime was distracted, Skylynx and Darksteel took their chance, leaping towards the Terrorcon Prime.

But the Prime swiftly turned around, slicing the heads off of Darksteel and Skylynx. Their bodies layed lifeless on the ground.

Predaking transformed into his robot mode, Optimus Prime just stood there; emotionless and glaring at the Predacon warrior.

"You ...you killed my brethren ..." Predaking whispered as he fell to his knees, Nova transformed and ran over to him.

That's when Optimus Prime's eyes started to twitch again, his eye color returning to normal as well as his mind coming to.

"Prime, what have you done." Starscream mumbled to himself.

Optimus Prime had dropped his sword at his side and closed his eyes. He wasn't sure what had happened until he opened his eyes and looked around.

"Oh, no ..." Optimus Prime whispered as his gaze landed on the lifeless bodies of Darksteel and Skylynx.

Predaking stood back up, Nova beside him. "You killed my brethren!" Predaking growled in anger.

Optimus Prime turned to face the angry Predacon warrior. "I didn't ...it was a mistake! That wasn't me." Optimus Prime tried to reason.

"And you think you're right just for that?! No. Punishments will now come in your favor." Predaking said bitterly as he transformed into his beast mode and flew off.

"No, Predaking!" Nova called out to him, but to no avail.

Predaking flew off to a distant mountain and landed in a cave that was in it. Nova transformed and followed him there.

"Looks like somevone needs Terrorcon lessons!" Random Blitzwing giggled. 

Jessica walked up to him, lifting her right fist up and threatened to punch him.

Random Blitzwing smiled nervously as he lifted his hands up in surrender and began to back away slowly.

"No, that maniac is right. Optimus, I could ...teach you how to control your Terrorcon self." Starscream offered willingly.

Optimus Prime thought to himself. He didn't want to cause any more harm than what he already did. He had no other choice at that moment. Optimus Prime sighed deeply. "Ok. But ...away from the others." 

Starscream nodded. "I spotted a small clearing in the forest." He said as he motioned for Optimus Prime to follow him.

The Prime had followed Starscream's lead through the forest. That's when they came across a clearing in the forest that ended in a steep, rocky ledge.
