The Autobots were driving their way to the Austrian Alps, a rather long drive. But they knew they had to find this unknown Energon reading.
After the first day of travelling, everything went just fine, but as the morning of the second day approached, the Autobots had to stop in their tracks, skidding to a stop; a black mist blocked their path.
They all transformed to their robot modes; weapons drawn.
"Autobots, stay behind me." Optimus Prime said, not taking his eyes off of the still, black mist.
"What is it?" Hotrod asked in amazement and slight fear.
The black mist then began to form into something.
Something tall.
It was about half the size of Optimus Prime, it formed into a completely black figure.
The Autobots stood there in caution, not knowing who this thing was or what it could do.
The figure then spoke, its voice dark and muffled, almost sounding like a low growl.
"You will not reach your friend; I will make sure of it. For I am the Exterminator of all species who weren't meant to be!"
The Autobots looked at each other in slight confusion.
"You're making no sense, blob man." Hound said bluntly.
"I see." The black figure said to himself. "Then I shall show you what I mean."
And with that, the being started shooting lava at the Autobots who quickly took cover behind some large, nearby rocks.
"What is this thing?!" Crosshairs shouted as lava hit the rocks.
"Beats me, he just came out of nowhere!" Axl shouted back.
"We must act with precaution; we don't know what this being is capable of." Optimus Prime shouted over the sound of the rocks melting from the impact of the lava.
"Well, let's think of something fast before we lose our cover!" Starscream said hysterically.
Optimus Prime thought for a moment, then got an idea. "We'll take advantage of our greatest weapon we have had but never have used." He began. "Axl, can you transform into a Predacon?" He asked the multi-changer.
Axl grinned deviously, catching onto what Optimus Prime meant.
"I sure can." And with that, Axl transformed into a large, silvery-blue Predacon; towering over the Autobots and the rocks that they were hiding behind.
He looked over to the shadowy black figure who had now ceased with his attacks, just staring at the large beast with utter shock and slight fear.
"You think this intimidates me?" The figure spoke darkly, trying to sound as confident and unfazed as he could even though his composure was crumbling like pebbles unevenly stacked on top of each other.
"Uh, yeah. I do." Axl replied with a hint of a smirk, seeing through his lie.
The multi-changer then walked over to him, towering over him by at least 50ft.
He looked down at the ghostly figure, smirking. "You die now." He then lifted up his massive, clawed hand, crushing him, or so he thought.
He looked over at the Autobots. "Crisis averted." He said confidently.
"Uh, I don't think so." Hotrod said nervously as he pointed at a black mist that now surrounded Axl.
The multi-changer looked down in slight confusion and panic.
