Zuri POV
6:00 PM
I get a text from Anthony asking to meet up. I look in the back of my car and drop the kids off at their grandmas.
I walk into the restaurant.
I sit down in my seat.
"Hey." I say awkwardly.
"We need to talk." We both say at the same time.
"You go first." I say stressed.
"No you." Anthony says while making hand gestures.
I give him a blank stare.
I pick up a piece of bread and start to listen.
"I uh think I love you. Like a lot and I just don't wanna hide my feeli-" Anthony says while looking scared.
"Just stop. You don't love me. I'm really sorry but no." I say feeling bad.
Anthony faces drops.
"So who do you want? If I'm not the one that you flirted with, touched, almost kissed with?" Anthony says serious.
"I-I-I'm sorry that I gave you mixed feelings. I felt like I had no choice but I want someone else!" I say sad.
Anthony goes slient.
"Oh! You got dressed up for a guy that day. That wasn't for work! You slept with him..." Anthony says heartbroken.
I start to stutter.
"No! It's not what you think. Maybe it wasn't for work but I didn't sleep with anyone. I promise." I say stressed out.
"I can't believe you're actually lying straight to my face! I gave you all that advice just for you to be in mature and sleep with someone. I thought you changed." Anthony says disappointed.
I go slient as I'm being framed and don't know what to say.
"Who is it? Who!" Anthony says pissed.
"J-J-Jayashaun..." I say scared.
Anthony face drops. I feel tears drop down my face.
I walk out and grab the bread basket with me. I walk out and get in my car. I look at the time.
Shit!
I quickly drive to the party. I walk in and see Jayshaun sitting there disappointed.
I walk up and sit next to him while other are dancing.
"Hey." I say gloomy.
Jayshaun ignores me.
"Sorry I'm late. I got up in stuff. Also Happy birthday." I say a little worried.
"It's good. You missed half of the party." Jayshaun says while not looking at me.
I hear slow music turn on.
"How about I make it up to you with a dance." I say trying to hype him up.
I stand up but he just sits there gloomily. I pull him on the stage.
I start to dance with him as he looks down.
"Look at me. That's how you dance" I say while chuckling.
He looks up at my face.
"You've been crying?" Jayshaun asks me.
"Uh yeah. It's dumb though." I say brushing it off.
My mascara must be ruined.
"You know I never thought I would talk to you again. How wrong was I?" I say trying to bring up the mood.
"Very wrong." Jayshaun says while smirking.
He slowly kisses my lips softly. I kiss him back.
"Happy birthday." I say while smiling.
The End....
