And The Guests Are:

I hope you enjoyed this outside-of-the-box 'who are they'.  For those of you who really tried guessing, to have guessed my guests you probably:

1.  have to be around my age when newspaper comics, cartoons at the movies or early black and white TV cartoons kept us enchanted and we actually thought they were FUNNY ...

2.  not around my age, but saw value in what we used to find amusing ..

3.  googled key words, and deciphered my guests from there ...

Guest#1   -   Olive Oyle

Guest#2   -   Blondie

Guest#3   -   Betty Boop

So the hints I threw out were:

In General:  comical -- guests knowing what a 'real house' looked like -- only knew them from the big screen, boob-tube, or paper -- 'comic relief' -- Bil (Keane - Family Circus), Elzie, Max, Chic, all created and/or were early cartoonist -- guests looking almost like as they did many years ago -- didn't know they could be so human.

Guest#1  -  long relationship with Popeye -- boyfriend back to using his pipe (Popeye) -- he is what he is (I yam what I yam - Popeye) -- people wondered about 'Sweet Pea' her nephew -- pop you right in the eye (Popeye) -- always is bothered by, or is infatuated with, Brutus -- didn't touch the 'spinach' soufflé -- thin, reedy -- perfect figure of 57 (19, 19, 19) --- slender legs, disproportionate large feet.

Guest#2 - married to Dagwood -- daisies (dog Daisy) -- in recent years set up catering business with neighbor Tootsie -- leftover sandwiches, Dagwood is famous for his sandwiches -- perpetual teenagers living at home (Alexander and Cookie) -- husband is always being fired by his excitable boss, Mr. Dithers -- Blondie of course has blond hair -- perfectly proportionate body in a Barbie sort of way.

Guest#3 - more of an enigma, no real boyfriend - high-pitched voice - some of her early cartoon had her as being a saloon hall singer or something similar - censors did step in on early cartoon, too sexy -  Louis Armstrong and Cab Calloway did write songs for her (also tells the vintage of this lady) - her posters are still a favorite - bobbed haircut, spikey curls.
