Harry and Louis had been married for years. 6 to be exact. Well actually, 6 years tomorrow as it was the day before their anniversary currently.

Harry had always loved his and Louis's special day, as it was always started with a breakfast in bed and kisses and then was filled with love and gratitude for one another during the daylight, and especially throughout the night. They always picked out an activity to do for the day, and the go out to dinner at the end. If the weather was nice, they would go for a picnic in the park or even go for a walk on the beach. It was safe to say that Harry was really looking forward to tomorrow.

Since Louis was at work, Harry decided to make him a nice warm home cooked meal for when he returned from his long day. After Harry decided what he was making, which was lasagna, he got to work, but not before putting music on so he could sway his hips and sing along to while he cooked.

Harry was now finished making the main course and decided to set the table. He put a bottle of Louis favourite wine on the table and lit an candle in the centre of the table. A surge of excitement went through his body as he thought about how much Louis would hopefully like what he has worked so hard doing.

The time was 6:21pm and Louis usually arrives home at 6:30. Harry quickly added the last minute touches before hurrying excitedly up the stairs to get changed into something less casual. He decided on a pair of black jeans and a white button up. He knew how much Louis like this outfit on him.

With clear excitement on his face, he waited by the door with a dimpled smile on his face, waiting patiently by the door to greet his husband.

Harry checked his watch. 6:40.

He just shrugged it off telling himself the traffic was bad.

15 more minutes passed and his feet was getting sore, and his dimpled smile was now less of a smile and more of a tight lipped smile.

The once steaming hot lasagne sat on the table and the wax of the candle was soon to run out.

Harry persevered and kept standing by the door hoping to greet his husband soon.

He checked his watch again.

7:11.

He kept on telling himself that traffic was bad until he got a bad and unhappy feeling in his gut.

He had been standing there for 41 minutes.

He decided to give Louis a quick ring. Harry took his phone out of his back pocket, briefly looking at the lockscreen on his phone. It was a photo of him and Louis sitting on the couch cuddled up, Harry was smiling at the camera while Louis kissed his cheek. It was his favourite photo of them.

He opened his phone and clicked on the phone app, and then on Louis name which was under "my love".

He rang once

Twice

Three times

6 missed calls later and still no answer.

no answer.

By this time, it was getting closer to 8:30pm and Harry was growing tired, the lasagne was cold and the candle was no longer burning.

Harry had a pit of worry in his stomach that somwthing was wrong.

But little did he know, Louis was still at work, swarmed with papers by his boss, completely forgetting about their pre anniversary dinner and a gift for harry. He had planned to get him flowers and this diamond necklace he saw in a shop window a few weeks back, but since work had been so busy lately, he completely forgot about his duties as a husband.
