"Doctor hurry, you need to be quick. My mother. She is in labor, but she is losing abnormal amounts of blood"

Said, Franz opening the door in a rush to call the doctor over to their house. His mother has given birth six times before but none of them were this serious. She was on the verge of dying and needed immediate assistance. As Franz got back on the horse followed by a doctor in a rush. Franz started tearing up on the way home, he didn't wanna lose his mother. She was too old to bear children but still wanted to have one more child. As he was thinking of his mother and everything she had done for them over the years they arrived at the home. The screams could be heard from in front of the house. As the doctor heard it he realized that the situation was more serious than he thought. He quickly got into the house following the screams. In front of the room there stood around ten people waiting for what will happen. Most of them were her children and some servants. The doctor opened the giant door to the bedroom. On the bed, there stood a woman in her 40s screaming. The sheets were soaked in blood. He took tools from his bag and said,

"I will need to perform a new surgery. I've done it once before, and it was fatal for a mother, but the child survived."

Everyone looked at the doctor with a worried face. Her husband Nikola wasn't having any of it. Angrily he walked over to the doctor, grabbed him by his shirt, and whispered thru his teeth.

"She is going to live, you hear me. Either she lives or you die."

The doctor had it all, he knew that Nikola could kill him and not be sentenced for his murder. Nikola was working for the government and was one of the few Croatians who did so. That's why he was one of the most influential people in town and further.

The doctor began cutting into the woman's stomach as she screamed even harder in agony. After hours of agony and pain, the cries were heard. But they were different. It wasn't the mother's crying, it was the baby. The maid took the baby to wash as the mother, Cecilia, was getting stitched.

As the maid was rushing out the door. Albert  the younger twin of Franz asked

"Is mother alright"

"Yes, sir she's going to be well"

"What's the baby's gender Patrice"

Said the youngest Edita.

"It's a boy, madam"

Maid Patrice said as she desapired around the corner.

"Franz, Franz. Mother said that I can name the child if it's a boy, right, right?"

"Yes she did Edita"

Said Franz taking a deep breath. Edita was a just little girl and didn't get the seriousness of the situation.

Elisabeth got up and started walking.

"Now that this is over I can leave to read"

"She is your mother how can you be so cruel, we need to go see how is she doing"

Said Albert with a calm voice and anger in his eyes. He didn't like Elisabeth. To be fair she was nobody's favourite because of her arrogance. She was the diva of the house. The one that took the most of their mother's beauty. Her perfectly blond hair and blue eyes were a distraction from her ugly personality. She turned around and signed.

"So let's go in there so we can be over with it quicker"

They got up and Albert knocked on the door. they heard their father's voice, letting them in the room. everything was still bloody, and Franz saw the look of terror on his little sister's face. Mother was already asleep. When Franz saw that he took the opportunity to take Edita out of the room.

"We just wanted to see how she is doing, we will go and let her rest now"

As he said that he took Edita's arm and motioned with his head to his siblings to exit the room. As the door closed Elisabeth left soon. Albert and his oldest sister, Theodora, went to the house library to get their minds off everything that happened that day. Franz was still holding his little sister by the hand and said

"Would you like to go on a walk so you can tell me about the names you picked for your little brother"

"With pleasure"

Edita was very happy coz her favorite brother often didn't have time to spend with her. She was a ten-year-old and he was the next man of the house. Although she didn't know that her brother was spending time with her just so she could forget the bloody scene she just witnessed. But if she did know she wouldn't probably care. Edita loved every moment she could spend with Franz.

As they walked into the garden, Franz gestured at the bench. They settled and Franz looked at Edita like he was expecting her to start talking

"When Mama told me I was gonna pick the name last month, I couldn't stop thinking about it. First, I thought Joseph like Emperor Franz Joseph, but I changed my mind..."

As she was talking, Franz was looking at her, admiring his smart little sister who, probably unknown, brought politics into her baby brother's life. Like his name wasn't already an attempt of his father to get recognized in Austria. Which was a success 23 years ago.

"And what was the name you picked"

he asked softly

"The name should be Aleksandar"

"That's a great name, but he can't have just one name. None of us do. Like your name,  Edita Katharina. And I even have three. Multiple names show the power of the family."

Edita looked embarrassed she just wanted to look smart in front of her role model. In the second her face lightened up.

"I know his second name should be Franz just like yours"

Franz smiled he knew how much she liked him and he just wanted to make her happy

"I love it Aleksandar Franz"

"Aleksandar Franz viscount of Croatia"
