ONE WEEK LATER

Kenric leaned on Wylie for support as they both hobbled over to Forkle's room. Kenric was going to see if Forkle would approve of him returning to the Council. If they let him. And if he could get a crutch or two. When they got to the door, Wylie knocked on the heavy metal.

"Enter!" Forkle called from within.

Kenric and Wylie walked into the room and Wylie set Kenric down on the nearest couch.

"I need to ask you if you think it is a good Idea to let me rejoin the Council? And can I please have a crutch or two?" Kenric asked

"He has been getting along really well and we all want Alina back off the Council. I would say yes if I was you, but I'm not." Wylie inputs

"I hear you, Wylie, and I agree with you. Yes Kenric, you can go erase Alina's memories for all I care. Have fun." Forkle gave Kenric two crutches and dismissed them.

Oralie was pacing in her tower. She longed to find Kenric and bring him home, but she knew he needed to heal from all those 5th degree burns that she saw on him. She walks over to the closest pink chair, sits, and buries her head. She starts to cry all over again. She's been doing it for the past week. Her love, which she thought was dead, was alive and breathing. Her sobbing turned into howling as she cried harder. He is going to come back, and when he does, Oralie will slap him. Then, whether she gets kicked off the council or not, she will kiss him.

Bronte knocked softly on the door. He could hear Oralie crying all the way from his tower... which was on the other side of Eternalia. It was like she borrowed Noland's power or something. But the other Councilors have gotten used to it, mostly because it's been happening for over a week now.

"Come– in..." Oralie sobbed.

Bronte walked in and pulled the least colorful chair next to her.

"You ok?" Bronte asked as lightly as he could. Thanks to Amy, he could ask with emotion and mean it.

"WHAT DOES IT SOUND LIKE! No, no I'm not ok." Oralie cried.

"What can I do to help?" Bronte offered.

"I want Kenric. I want these stupid rules to change. I want to be on the council, have Kenric, and...." Oralie trailed off. She almost told her secret about Sophie.

Bronte either didn't hear her catch, or didn't care. All he said was, "I'll see what I can do. I hate how much you are suffering. I am an Ancient, I will have a say. Emery might let it happen."

Before Oralie could respond, they heard a knock on the door.
