Different day.

Tokito is currently having a solo cleaning at my uncle's library. He wiped all the books on the shelves and cleaned the windows all by himself.

I told him that I would help him, but he said that it would make him sad so I only sat down at one of the tables he have already cleaned and read a book silently.

However, I can't focus on reading it because he's been yawing like a kid while dusting the floor. He looks so adorable while doing it.

I closed the book I'm holding and stood up to walk towards Tokito and try to convince him again to let me help him.

He looks at me with his sleepy, tired eyes.

"I told you *yawns* you don't have to help me..." he speaks.

"But you look sleepy. You want to sleep, don't you? I want to help."

Tokito looks at me with his half-open eyes and I have this urge to raise my hand to pinch his cheeks, but I stopped myself because I might upset him again for doing something unnecessary.

"Okay, then you finish sweeping the floor." He gave me the broom and tiredly walks to the chair where I was sitting a while ago. He sat down and leaned his head on his hands that are now on the table.

The side of my lips curve into a smile.

"Sleep well, my soon-to-be friend."

Muichiro's POV

When I slowly open my eyes, I didn't expect to see Tanjiro's face a little bit closer to mine.

He was mirroring my position right now and it kinda makes me flushed thinking that he fell asleep while staring at me... or not?

He really doesn't fail to surprise me. Even though I kept on telling him to not befriend me, he still didn't stop following me around. I think his head is as hard as a rock. He seriously doesn't need to waste his time for someone like me.

"If you'll keep on staring at me like that, then that means you're already agreeing to be my friend." Tanjiro speaks, making my eyes widened after I heard his voice.

It went even wider when our eyes met and I jolted up from sitting to distance myself from him immediately.

"I'm not staring at you," I denied.

He laughed softly and didn't believe what I said.

"But I just saw you staring at me."

"You saw me?"

How can he saw me when his eyes are closed?

"Yeah, I have a third eye," He answered like he just read what I was thinking and points his forefinger between his forehead.

"And my third eye saw you," He continued.

My lips parted in disbelief.

"You're just joking, right? I can't even see your third eye."

"But I really do have a third eye, go on and check it if you want," He urged.

Hesitantly, I walks closer to him and slowly check his forehead to see if he really has a third eye.

"I can't see anything." I frowned.

"Oh, maybe my third eye doesn't want to show itself to you because we're not friends yet?" Tanjiro stated.

I frowned even more. I knew it. He was just kidding me.

"Then I would never really get to see your third eye because we will never be friends." I told Tanjiro as I return to my seat beside him.
