Phase 3
I felt my stomach drop.
Aristos Evander? Quiet and sophisticated Heidi liked someone as immature as that? The world is coming to an end.
Aristos and Christos Evander were twin brothers who couldn’t be more different. They were the sons of one of the king’s advisors, thus they were given the special treatment by everybody even if they don’t deserve it.
Aristos was a flamboyant jerk who acts like he’s a prince and is a womanizer. He must look after his mother with his blonde hair and blue eyes. He, like Maliha, was strongly social.
Christos on the other hand doesn’t even look like he could be related to Aristos. He was quiet and menacing, who gives the evil eye to anyone who tries to talk to him for more than 5 seconds. He had pitch dark black hair and dark eyes to match.
To think that Heidi liked Aristos was crazy.
“Do you really like…Aristos?”
She shyly nodded.
I sighed as I ran a hand through my hair. “Okay, let’s talk about this.”
Twenty minutes later and 8.65 dollars later and we were at a café. Apparently she’s liked him since a little more than month ago when she was in the library and he asked if he could sit at her table even though there were 3 other empty tables. While he was reading, Heidi snuck a peak at his book and saw that he was reading a book on battle strategies and some of the greatest battles in history. That’s when she started liking him.
It took me all I had not to slam my face on the table. I was Heidi’s friend; I need to be supportive even when I don’t like the guy.
“I think…that it’s cute that you like him but he doesn’t seem like…your type.”
She nodded in agreement. “I wouldn’t have thought that I could like him either but I guess I was …wrong.”
I nodded, unsure of what to say.
“Aleta…” Heidi started while taking my hands, “Can you find out if he likes me? Or would even consider going on a date with me? Please?”
“Um…”
“Oh, please Aleta?”
I looked down at our hands and sighed; the price of friendship, so troublesome.
“Ok.” I glanced up at her and gave her a smile. “I’ll ask.”
Heidi smiled back at me. “Thank you.”
A second passed before I stood up.
“Well I have to go, I’ll see you later.”
“Wait,” Heidi gave me a hug, which was a little strange; we both weren’t exactly the ‘hugging type’. “Bye!”
I offered a small smile and turned to start walking back to the campus. I had a headache and needed to lie down. Today was an unexpected day.
