"You never used to call me Emily." I knew she listened to everything I had to say but tried to ease the conversation as much as she could. "Things change." I wiped my eyes of any tears that fell and looked at her with a straight face. I watched as her eyebrows furrowed whenever she looked at me, hating the fact that I was upset. "No we don't change." She argued and I tilted my head confused. Of course we did. We hadn't talked in 5 years. She closed the distance between us and grabbed my hand, her eyes silently noticing how I never took off the ring she gave me. "Tell me you don't miss me and you won't hear from me again."

Her fingers ran across the gold ring on my finger and I bit down on my tongue. I had tried to convince myself that I hated her for so long and now that she stood right in front of me I saw how untrue that really was. I was lying to myself. It's like she had a spell on me. I kept my eyes glued to her tattooed fingers, resisting the urge to meet her gaze. Her head came down to rest against the crook of my neck and I felt her breath against my skin. She knew what she was doing. "Emily." I tried to say as sternly as possible but it came out way softer than intended to which she lifted her head slightly up to my ear. "Hmm?" Her voice rang through my head over and over again. "I can't hear you Angel." She said hooking her fingers around my jaw to turn my face to meet hers.

"This is definitely a manipulation tactic that I don't know about so I can't get on your ass about it." I said with attitude and let my eyes wander her face. "Perfect for me." She hummed and her lips turned into a grin that confirmed her actions were anything but accidental. "Say it, cmon." She urged me to say the words she was well aware I couldn't, she was taunting me. A part of me enjoyed her hands on me, her attention...all of it. It was a crime for her to look this good. The distance between us increased as she stood up straight now hovering above me with her hand still keeping me right where she wanted me. "I don't need you." Is all I was able to say and she nodded in agreement. "I know, but that's not what I asked you. I said say you don't miss me. Feel how you feel but tell me how you feel." She insisted.

"Mm...wait another ten years and we'll talk." I said being petty. She knew better than to think I would fold at her first sign of remorse. "Don't be like that." She said and I could swear she got closer to me every time words came out of her mouth. "I'm going home." I ignored her and took a step back, opening my car door once again but this time she didn't protest letting me get in. I put my keys in the engine trying to get out of my situation as quick as humanly possible but before I could pull off Emily opened the passenger side door and got in like she was coming with me. "Then let's go home."

I wasn't about to sit in the car and argue with her so what did I do? I drove home. If she wanted to sleep outside on my front doorstep-or the curb, I would gladly watch it. The entire way home I shook my head in disbelief of what was happening to me, second guessing every thing that I've ever done to deserve this dark karma vibe I was getting. To ignore the huge woman that occupied the seat beside me I blasted partynextdoor. The entire time I felt her eyes staring at me practically drilling holes into my skin. It took every ounce of self restraint I had to not cuss her out or say something slick even though I really, really, really wanted to.

"Incoming call from: Boo" I answered the call from Paige who was probably calling to make sure I hadn't gotten kidnapped or anything. "Riri where you at?" She questioned and I told her that I was on my way home, but before I could continue Emily's voice cut me off. "With a friend." My eyes rolled and Paige laughed a little whilst Kk whooped in the background. "Riri boutta hunchh!" My face went so red I probably looked like a walking glow stick and of course Emily found it real funny. "No she's not!" I replied urgently and Emily leaned over to add her two cents as per usual. "She might!" I hit her hard on the arm earning a laugh before hanging up the phone and giving her a glare.

"I wouldn't let you touch me with a ten foot pole." I commented with a flip of my hair and she leaned back in her seat, brining her foot up onto the bench. "Mmm...right right." She said as if she was unconvinced and I scoffed at her. "Say one more thing and you're out." - "Oh yes ma'am."

She was gonna be the death of me.
